NRA Dues Going Up 2016

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Couple of days ago received the mail packet in the mail from the NRA stating after 20+ years all dues packages are going up in early 2016.  I recently sent in my annual dues, so no big deal, and I had for some time now contemplated becoming a life member.

They do have the bargains by 2016 standards until December 31.  The notices within the package pointed me to this web site:

https://www.nra2016.org/SignIn

Here is the low down:

  • 1-year dues will increase from $35 to $40
  • 3-year dues will increase from $85 to $100
  • 5-year dues will increase from $125 to $140
  • Life dues will increase from $1000 to $1500
  • Junior Life dues will increase from $550 to $750
  • Distinguished Life dues will increase from $375 to $750

In my mail packet and confirmed with the NRA link above, Life Memberships are on special again for $500.  I think its time, and I am going to use Paypal to pay!  Just to annoy the Paypal folks!  I guess I will later work on Patron or Benefactors level later in life.  I think I will pull the trigger on Nov. 11th.  Just in honor of some folks I know.

Yep, got the same packet. Been thinking about becoming a lifer too -  Just wish I could get them to promise to quit sending me so much CRAP if I do!

I do like the paypal and 11/11 idea.

That isn't going to happen!

I got the same packet, guess all did. I'll likely re-up for the 3 yr. deal, about all my budget will stand right now.

Strange, I am a lifer and I hardly get anything from them.

I got the letter.  I'm going to go ahead and pony up for a lifetime at $500.

I have definite concerns for 2nd amendment rights:

Gun control is something liberals will rally around and it's gaining steam with the school shootings

A growing concern for me is that Hillary will take the White House.  I view Trump as un-electable.  I could go with Ben Carson, though inconsistencies with his story are causing trouble.  Bush can seem to get a solid campaign together.  Fiorina is fading as more comes out about challenges HP had with her at the helm.

I view this as a good time to help with money.  If we can get the house and senate - things the NRA does well, then we can listen to Hillary whine and moan about inability to get gun control passed just like Obama does.

Hillary's prez unless Rubio gets the nomination. He's the only one with a chance to beat her.

Carson is going to be largely regarded as the style over substance that he really is in this arena. Largely the same as Trump with just opposite styles. Plus he's a bit "tetched" in my view besides.

I DID IT!

I am now a proud NRA lifer as of today.  I pulled the trigger for many reasons, and chose today's date just as a small token of appreciation.  NRA may have some fat cats, but they are a strong foe for lobbying my gun interests with both Federal and State level elected officials. Its time that I step up to do my part.  That Glock 43 may have to wait another 6 months, an/d or that Savage 110FCP may have to wait a little longer.

Look out mailbox for endless mail for years to come.

Reminder about the $500 Life time membership!  Time is running out on the $500 deals, ~32 days remaining.   https://www.nra2016.org/SignIn

Received my Lifetime backpack yesterday.   Its actually quite nice and better quality than I expected, but still cheezy.

I went ahead and ponied up for the lifetime as well.  The Hildebeast has me worried.

I'm with you.  Though I believe a Repbulican will make it to the wh next, but OS has a way to cast doubt on my political thinking.

I agree with OS as does btq who studies politics a lot.

Republican voters and the Republican machine have put un-electable candidates in the first and second slot - Trump and Carson. Swing voters will consider Hillary the lesser of two evils if they have to choose between one of these two and the Hildebeast.

The NRA does very well impacting elections in the senate and congress.  My reasoning in getting NRA's LIietime membership has more to do with the congress and senate than the presidential election.  If we can hold on to those then we'll have a toothless and clawless Hildebeast.

First it is way to early to make any calls.  I expect the top spot to change more then once before the primaries start to happen.  At this point it is all about the money.  Who can raise the most and who has the best name reconnection.  Polls at this point are only good for 1 one thing to tell who is going up and who is going down.  You can also get a feel for tiers those that have a chance vs those that just aren't getting traction nothing more.

Thanks

Robert,

I hope you are right about the front runner changing.  I remember thinking about how a candidate, may have been Bill Clinton's first presidential election, and how they were like the Terminator.  Bad info kept coming out, but he didn't give up and went on to win.

I don't know how who is getting money among the Republicans, hopefully Rubio.

4 years ago there were what a good 6 front runners for the republican's before Mitt Romney surged at just the right time to take the nomination someone who was regularly in the middle of the pack hell even well he was winning he wasn't hitting more than 50% in the polls.

Thanks

Trump and Carson are the last people the "Republican machine" wants to be there, probably with Cruz third.

Though it would be great to thwart what the GOP is overall, it happens to be correct in the sense of their electability.

Me either. I guess that's one of the benefits of being a lifer.

Personally i'm hoping it's Rubio, I too believe he could beat Hillary. I don't know who his VP pick would be, what about Condi Rice if she agreed? I know she was a "W" toadie for a while but I wouldn't hold that against her, can't criticise your boss much while employed. I don't think the VP pick is that critical unless they are a real clown. Walker or Jindal might make a decent VP pick.

Friendly reminder.   Now is the time.

I get no finders fee, but we need to lock and load the NRA now!  Now is the time.  Now is the time to break open the penny jars.  If not for you, or you are already a lifter, now is the time to get that son, father, father-in-law, husband or that special woman in your life a NRA lifetime membership.

I just renewed and have encouraged friends to do the same.

I'm also a member of GOA, Knife Rights and NFA Freedom.

I'm not certain how much it helps, but at least it gives me "bitichin'" rights...

I agree, so tired of the moaning and groaning...somebody should do something crowd. It all starts with ourselves. We can't depend on the unknown "somebody" to do it.

I'm and NRA Lifer. GOA member. Knife Rights member. And Concealed Carry member. Oh, and TFA. And some little group of loudmouth gun nuts...TGO. lol

The point is, prag is absolutely right! Each and every one must be involved!
