Buying from Blade HQ?

Recommended Posts

I just spent close to an hour looking at knives on this website and came to the conclusion that if I was buying a fixed blade, I'd rather pay some of the knifemakers here on TGO to make me a knife than buy what I saw on Blade HQ. It's not that there are some very nice knifes on the website, but IMO they don't compare to what I've seen here. Of course, folding knives and auto's are a different story since I've not seen anyone here make any of those. Just my opinion of course.

Hey you never said what you ordered! That's like the equivalent of a felony around here right?

I have been checking out made in the U.S.A. auto knives in the $100 range. I couldn’t decide between a Kershaw Launch 3 and a Smith & Wesson M&P; so I bought them both. I’ll keep whichever one I like the best and sell the other one to someone at work. biggrin.gif

I want the M&P to be nicer because I have several M&P firearms and it matches them. But I can’t find out who makes it. The Kershaw will probably be better quality; but I don’t know if I’ll like the handle shape. We will see.

I also bought the Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops Tanto because I wondered what kind of quality $30 would be in an auto. (Made in Taiwan)

I got an email that’s says they were shipped yesterday and should be here tomorrow; that’s good. I figured the free shipping would take a week at least, but they sent them Priority Mail 2-Day. Edited by DaveTN

Dave,

I don't remember the model but it was a S&W knife I bought at Tractor Supply a few years ago. IIRC, it was around $45-50. At the time It was about the most I wanted to spend on a knife, it looked cool, and I thought being S&W it would be a good quality knife. I was wrong. Within a month of carrying it and honestly not using it much, the blade had so much side to side play it was unusable to cut much of anything with, it had loosened up that much.

I hope you have better luck with yours, maybe you got a better model that mine.

I hate to say this but every Smith and Wesson knife that I have ever seen in my life ( Several) was not worth a darn, they lend their name to the cheapest manufactures in the world so that many folks that love their guns would buy them, unfortunately they do not use quality USA manufacturers

But as for Blade HQ, before I became a dealer I bought at least 50 knives from them and every transaction was great, Edited by willis68
