Has anyone seen a "living" armadillo in Tennessee?

I had one digging around in my back yard during the day about a week ago. He/she must have been just passing through because I haven't seen it since.

saw my first live one last week when I let the dog out at night. Those rascals can run pretty fast with a large dog after them.

My dad's dogs chased an armadillo through the space between the house and the heat pump and disconnected one of the wires.  We didn't know it at the time (wire was still going into the heat pump, but loose inside).   AC guy thought it was the funniest service call once we figured out what happened.  Dad didn't think it was so funny.  He lives in Macon, Georgia.

I had to laugh a bit at this post. I live in a rural area and see A LOT of them. Most aren't alive very long after though. They are constantly rooting into my yard and landscaping. I have a strong hatred for those creatures. They are mostly nocturnal, and I don't think they see very well in the first place. I have kept a light shining on them and have walked as close as 7-8 feet before shooting. I had wiped out the population pretty well here at my place a couple of years ago but it looks like they have made a comeback. I have a treeline about 25 yards from my backdoor and usually hear them making their way through the leaves and then I'll find them with a flashlight. They make a lot of noise in the woods.

Damn good eating, if you can be bothered to fool with 'em.
Very much like tender, slightly stringy pork.
Delicious in a well made molè.

They weren't included in the "Hoover Hog" group for nuthin.
