World Series

I rarely watch a baseball game, until it is the world series, then I try to watch every game. I have heard that a baseball game is three minutes of excitement squeezed into three hours, but there is just something about it I enjoy. I am for the Royals. Am I the only one watching?

I stayed up until midnight watching game one, caught the last 5 innings of game 2 due to a pre-scheduled event last night.  I love baseball, I always root for the underdog once the Braves have inevitably been eliminated.  So in this years case I root for the fan base that has seen the least success for the longest time...Kansas City.  If it were the Cubs, I'd be on the bandwagon with the rest.

Unfortouinetly, I had to work during the first two games, though I caught the 1st game in the 12th inning, or somewhere thereabouts.  I'll be able to watch games 3-5, if it goes to 6&7, I'm out of luck.

I love baseball.  Yes, the season needs to be shortened, yes, it's slow a lot of the time, but there is just something perfect about watching a game.  Even listening to it on the radio is enjoyable to me.

I have watched both games and yep, that first game was a barn burner and I watched it from beginning to end and I am definitely pulling for KC. Their pitcher threw a 2 hitter last night. Glad they are 2 games ahead but I bet that will change when Mets get home but I hope not............. :2cents:

If only.  I had tickets to Game 5 in Chicago for the NLCS and of course we get sweeped.  I have to admit, I pretty well forgot about baseball after that pathetic NLCS for us.  I am pretty well anti NY teams, so KC for me.

I'm the same way. I like baseball but rarely get to watch a game. I got to see the 1st inning of game 1 and exactly none of game 2.

I'm somewhat of a Cubs fan because the Smokies are their farm team, otherwise I like the Braves.

And anyone who beats the Mets is good by me.

I'm  a St. Louis Cardinals fan........and it pains me to support the Royals........but I am.  For those of you who remember, Umpire Don Denkinger blew a call at first base leading to the Royals beating my beloved Cardinals in the 1985 World Series.  Years later I was in a bar in Denver, CO.  Snow storm.  Flights were cancelled.  I ended up at the bar with Mr. Denkinger.......was interesting to say the least.  I told him I was a Cardinals fan and remembered him vividly.  The man was nice enough to buy me a drink.  I ordered the most expensive Scotch available.

Go Royals!

Couldn't care less. :)

Have a neighbor couple who are still crying about St. Louis getting put out.

I'm really upset about it. lol

Well once the Braves fell to about..., what was it like 20+ games behind, I started looking around for somebody else to pull for.

I was really liking the Blue Jays after they signed David Price and with R.J. Dickey on the team there was a good Tennessee connection.

Once they went away, I got to thinking that maybe the movie Back to the Future Part II that predicted the Cubbies would sweep the World Series had it right.  Well...., maybe next year Cubs Fans!

So.......

Its KC for me.  I can't see the Mets getting past that Royals bullpen

I'm watching as well and rooting for KC. I don't have cable so rarely see a baseball game during the regular season. Being aired on Fox, the World Series is a treat for me every year. I've really enjoyed watching the last couple of years.

We also don't have cable, so that also may have something to do with my enjoyment of watching the series.

Baseball games have 3 minutes of excitement?  I must be missing those ...

There are easily three to five minutes of excitement in every baseball game, the trick is waiting for them.

If ya'll want excitement in a baseball game make sure you watched Little League World Series. I have watched it the last 4 years and never miss a game. They are really fun to watch.............

I usually watch the Little League World Series, go to the SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover AL, and if LSU makes it to the College World Series we make the trip to Omaha. Love watching stuff like that.

Cueto pitching all of game 2 was huge for KC.  The Mets have had their bullpen active both games, really two and a half if you look at how long game 1 went on, and that was in an AL park where they had the luxury of a DH.  Now that the series is back in NYC, the pitcher has to bat, and KC has a much fresher bullpen to facilitate pinch hitters after the 3rd inning or so.

Not really interested. I'm a Red Sox fan and they were out of it back in June. I also like any team that's playing against the Yankees as I loathe, despise and hate the Yankees!! I'll admit tho I'm slowly warming up to the Braves. ;)
