ATV Trails at Cedars of Lebanon???

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any of you guys have ridden or know of ATV trails in Cedars of Lebanon park. My wife says she thought she remembers seeing some signs when we drove through but I don't see anything about it online.

The sign at the front of the park says no firearms, no alcohol, no atvs.

Hmmmm. Well the no firearms part is wrong. Wonder if the ATV part is wrong too??  Thanks for the info. Wonder if there is some portion back there that isn't considered part of the park that folks ride on. I swear I saw a truck and ATV trailer back there one day.

We've camped there for years, and I've never seen atv's there. I dont doubt that there are trails in the area though. I'm sure they didn't want to or couldn't afford to change the sign when the gun/carry laws were updated.

The ATV riding trails are off Whippoorwill Road, just west of Hurricane Creek Road on the southern end of the park's land. I'm pretty sure that land is part of the park, but I can't be certain. I don't know if it's legal to ride there or not, but you can clearly see the trails and tire tracks on Google Maps satellite view. You could call the park office at 615-443-2769 and ask about that land and riding ATVs there.

Just confirmed with the nice lady at the park that it is not legal to ride back there. She said they were aware of the trails back there but that it was in fact not legal and the first time you got caught was a $2000 fine followed by jail time for a second offense. Think I will pass.  Now just to find somewhere around here to legally ride.

We used to ride dirt bikes there from time to time in the mid 90's so I guess all that changed at some point.

It's a haul from your area but Turkey Bay in Land Between the Lakes is a good area to ride. I seem to recall they have about 2500 acres. I haven't been there in years since I sold my KDX.

Trade that ATV for a dual sport (street legal) motorcycle and there's all kinds of stuff available around there.

I actually rode one of those this weekend and was able to imagine about 50 different ways I would hurt myself on them.

I confirmed that's the case with the forestry dept as well.

I am a State Forest Program Specialist. Any questions about activities on state owned Forest land (not park) feel free to call or send me a PM. 615-837-5454 is my office number. Unfortunately they discontinued ATV use at Cedars due to a lot of erosion and misuse. This was done before I got here.

I was hoping you would chime in on this. Thanks for the further clarification.

I would like to get in on a group trip! I have a slow side by side. I would even be down to primitive camp as well.

Agreed.  Dualsports, they are like 4 wheelers, for men.
