Anyone ever live in/around Atlanta?

I'm seriously considering extending my job search to the Atlanta area. Been kind of keeping an eye on the tech job market down there, and no surprisingly, there's a fair bit more activity there than here. I've only been down there a few times since moving out here, though I have had the fun of experiencing morning traffic. That puts me off a fair bit. On the other hand, I'd be near the CAF wing in Peachtree City that I want to get involved with.

Pros/cons? I have no intention of living in the city- I despise urban life. Which makes me a bit leery of a big-ass city like Atlanta. But the jobs just don't seem to be happening up here.

Well I lived down there for two weeks after my wreck,but I was unconscious most of the time......does that count?

Traffic is a real biatch,but they do have a 24 hour traffic channel,kinda like the weather plus channel on Comcast.

But I still wouldn't want to fight it

i have lived around the outskirts of Atlanta for many years. Conyers, McDonough,

Fayetteville. My brother lives in Fayetteville near Peachtree City and it is very nice.

Commuting into Atlanta is one big pain in the ***. Stick to the suburbs. I moved here

a few years ago to get away and have no plans to go back. I do a lot of business

in the Huntsville, Al area and it is nice there. Lot of tech jobs in that area.

My sister lives in Marietta. Cute little town - but heading anywhere near ATL makes me want to suck-start a shotgun as far as traffic is concerned. That city is the only place I've ever seen an 8am traffic standstill as NORMAL... on a Saturday morning.

Stick to north and north west of Atlanta; Marietta, Alpharetta, etc. Also a considerable amount of the tech jobs are in that part of the Atl Metro area.
