Nassau trips, ideas/things to check out

Recommended Posts

I'm traveling to Nassau this week and next month to play some gigs(first trip is a Country cruise, second a private gig..)

Anybody been there and have some advice on what to expect or cool things to do? I know they did some filming for 007 films there but that is the extent of my knowledge.

My life sucks, I know.. ;)

Plenty of sun worshipping and drinking to be done :)

Atlantis is nice but technically you're suppose to pay to be in there.

There's also snorkeling and some booze cruises available .

Youll have a great time

Be sure to go through the Straw Market. If you eat at Senor Frogs you can watch the cruise ships dock. The little bus drivers are crazy. Ours had a bat on his dash for unruly passengers.

If your a foodie then take a taxi to where the fishermen dock, buy off the boat, walk 50 to 75 meters to where the food stalls are and have them cook it for you. Conch salad, conch fritters (they'll teach you how to remove the conch if you ask them) and the freshest cooked fish/shellfish you will ever have.

Man I'm hungry.........

When I was there locals weren't allowed to gamble so talk with the taxi drivers and they'll take you to the "local" dives. I met a lot of retired people there from every part of the world it seems.
