Had a man offer to trade me this gun for my built ruger 10/22. If I lose interest in the revolver could I sell it easily? Don't know much about Dan wessons.5e88c07bd1f6acbd36469b3b83984e95.jpg

I just sold a SW357 in beautiful condition for $300.....nearly could not give it away. Revolvers don't seem to move well or fast.

I didn't see it in the classifieds here.

I would have been all over any $300 S&W! . I think with a little effort your Dan Wesson will go $400-$450.

Shipping and transfer fee takes it to your numbers. That's why I wanted to sell locally. I started at $400 and no one I presented it to would pay that.

Way cool revolver.  DW allegedly had quicker lock times than other popular DA revolvers making them a favorite of silhouette shooters back in the day.  EWK Arms makes parts for this model but I have a sneaking suspicion he may be making parts for CZ too.  I didn't see any shrouds on his website.  When you disassemble this revolver it doesn't look like a S&W at all in its action.  You might want to take this revolver to the hundred yard line and ring some gongs.   Very pleasant shooting revolver.

Dan Wesson revolvers have a dedicated following. They are very accurate and popular with the silhouette shooting crowd.
You will need a barrel wrench and gap gauge.

A quick look on eBay shows just the barrel assembles selling in the $150-$200 range.

I've owned 3 of them. One .357 & 2  .44s' ( first one was stolen ). They don't take a back seat to any. IMHO. If I was going the revolver

route, that's what I'd do.

If you had no intention to keep and shoot the DW revolver you discussed here then turning down the trade was a probably a good decision.

Again, nobody knows if it was a good or bad deal if we don't know what you have into your built 10/22.

I decided the rifle was worth more given what I've done to it.

Yeah I've about decided to just keep it. It's darn accurate with the stuff I've had done to it and I'll probably throw a kids trigger in it and eventually buy a suppressor.

Kidd trigger is the way to go in a 10/22
