East Tn Windshield Replacement

I'm needing a new windshield and wanted to see if anyone in the east tn area had any recommendations. Or, on the other end, who to avoid using.

Phoenix Glass in Knoxville has served me well for several buses and vans from work. Last price I got from them on a vehicle was nearly $200 cheaper than Safelite, and $75-100 cheaper than anyone else local.

Check your car insurance.  If road debris damaged it, some policies have zero or a very low deductible for windshield replacement.

My insurance covered mine. I called Safelight and they did it in my driveway. Took him less than hour. No problems at all. It is amazing how much better the clarity of a new windshield is over a couple year old veteran of I40 commutes.

I used Safelite when I needed to replace a windshield on my old truck.  

 

They came to me.  I found the price reasonable.

 

Pricing depends on OEM or aftermarket glass.

Hillbilly Auto Parts in Strawberry Plains. They were the cheapest & did a great job. 2 years later and no leaks. Even with a pressure washer. :)

They just put a windshield in one of my Tacomas, no problems and came to me.

Safelite is awesome if you're in a pinch and don't have much time to schedule around, but if you want to help out a local business, those small glass shops sometimes live and die by the auto glass repairs they do.  I know the one I worked for as a kid was very dependent on that type of work.  They may even came to your location as well.

As luck would have it I took a rock or something off my windshield today.  Left a nice burst at about 2 O'clock on the passenger side.  I stuck a piece of clear shipping tape over it for now.

 

Thankful I was driving the beater and not the truck.

I like to keep money local when I can and that goes double if I can support a TGO establishment.
