.22 Suggestions

I have a million things on my "To Buy" list, but only one will save me money in the long run.... a .22. I'm not looking to spend more than 300 bucks or so. The best choices so far look like:

AA conversion kit for my Glock 17

Beretta Neos

S&W 22

Whatever it is, it needs to be full size. I'm sure there are some revolvers that get close to that price point that I've missed. Any suggestions are welcome. If you have something that fits the bill that you're willing to part with, PM me.

I Like the S&W 22A for the 200$ price range and the Ruger 22/45 Mark III at the 250$ range.

never shot the S&W .22 but have heard a few things good about it. i have a beretta neos and i like it but if i had to do it all over again ide go with a ruger mark II but a mark III would be fine too (mark III has more required safety features). A buddy has a browning buckmark that is a good gun as well. the buckmark is a take off of some other gun and the beretta neos is a take off of the buck mark.

in the end ide get the ruger mark II/III and they offer 2 different grip styles (luger and 1911, luger=metal, 1911=plastic)

+1 for Ruger MK II or III. $300 will get you a new blue or used stainless- they're good shooters, highly accurate right out of the box and built to last.

I have a Ruger 22/45 and love it. It's a great 1911 trainer and has never hiccuped a single time. The breakdown is a little unique but I just have to "remember" how to do it each time I clean it. Great gun though!

I have Rugers and even a Colt 22 conversion but I have always lusted after a Walther P22/

I have a MKII stainless and a P22 with both long and short barrel. I like both but for accuracy I would go with the Ruger. The P22 is a nice gun and I often carry it around my property.

I do agree with you -- you can't beat a good S&W. I'd also add the model 18 to the list.

I would add that nice High Standard Sport King that Bubbadavis has listed in the

classifieds for a little bit more. the older High Standards are hard to beat and not seen that often.

I have owned a 22 like the one KahrMan has for sale and loved it. Now I use a 22 conversion for my 1911 and I think it is great. I like to be able to use the same grip and trigger pull for practice as for my primary pistol.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options listed, but the conversion works for me.

I'd go with the conversion kit, personally. Like others have said, it's a good training tool as well as a fun (and cheap) plinker.

If you can find a Ruger Mk I,II, or III in your price range I would think of going that route. I've got a Mk I target which is very accurate and love it.

i had a neos and a sig mosquito i wouldnt mind having another mosquito but the next 22 i get will be aconversion for my 23.

Ive got a P22 its a great weapon no flaws with good ammo but your best bet would be MK2 or 3. Im also a fan of the 22/45.
