Incredible gift from my dad

Make sure to keep this pistol.  Gifts from Dads, Grandpas, and other family, are priceless once they are gone.  You don't know what you have until they are gone.  I got a many pocket knives and a few guns.

Believe me, I will.  This gun has a bit of a story behind it... I just really started getting to know my dad back in May (I'm 30), and we started because I found out he had been diagnosed with ALS.  We are trying to make the most of what time he has left.  The fun thing is that I am virtually his clone in many, many ways.  I am also getting to know my two sisters through this process.

All of the guns I currently own have come from a grandfather, my great-grandfather, my father-in-law, and my father.  None of them will ever be sold.

I am sorry to hear of your Father's diagnosis.  That is an awesome gift.

Treasure the time you have left and bury whatever issues you had from the past that kept you from having a relationship.  My father passed a little over two months ago. There is nothing I wouldn't give to have another day with him.

I am sorry to hear of your father's passing.  We have worked through the issues of the past.  I made sure to do that as soon as I could, and it went very well.  There wasn't too much between us to begin with, which was helpful.  I hadn't known him due to him stepping back when my step dad adopted me.  We didn't have a relationship because everyone at that time was doing what they all felt was best for me.  That's about as good as that situation can be.

i love the two tone.

Me, too!   I think I need a matching 226.   :)

When I was about 20 I gave my Dad a Case Kiowa fixed blade hunting knife in sheath.  I had the blade monogrammed for him.  Years later after Dad died my mother found the knife tucked away unused with a note that said "make sure Scott gets this."  It means a lot.
