Yep, I learned about this with my 1st born over 11 years ago.  A total of 4 sons later, my only complaint, I get 4 calendars a year and every other month, 4 of the TWRA magazines.  Otherwise great bargain.

I waited till my boys and grandchildren show an interest in hunting and fishing before I spent the money and so far been lucky. All of them enjoy the sports of both Hunting and Fishing and bought my 10 year old grandson his last year and what does he do but a week after getting it, goes out and bags a 14 pointer.................

Boy my boys have theirs as well.

Inside the cover of the last magazine had a phone number to call to change/reduce the magazine subscriptions. The lady I talked to said it can be turned back on at any time.

I think they are priced backwards myself. I think the older we get, the less we use them. Make them cheaper!

I got my  "Ol Foggy"  license in 2010 and as you said, not too much use. I think it's gone up to something like $30 now.

Yea, I think your right. I got mine at $10 bucks and I think the next year they were $12 bucks and then went up big time because more and more Baby Boomers are getting ripe enough to buy them these days.......

All three grandkids received theirs before the latest price increase.  It really is a good deal.

Well I fell into the expensive bracket. :-(
About $1,600 to the TWRA but fortunately it should pay for itself many times over before I expire. Wish I could say the same about my lifetime CCW permit!

I got mine for $9 for the disabled veteran...I was pretty excited about that. Aaaalmost worth that broken shoulder. I was thinking about getting my daughter one but its always a gamble buying them before they express interest. So far she only likes Elmo, blueberries, and throwing rocks.

buy it.  She already has a perfect start.  You will have multiple opportunities to hunt for blueberries & throw rocks while you squirrel hunt (and grow into other stuff).  Just believe in her, and she will follow.

Throwing rocks is a good starting point building hand eye coordination

When they are about 10 or 12 years old....ask what they  would they like....an IPHONE or a hunting & fishing license.   I bet I know what one they chose!  My grand kids are waiting for shower proof IPHONES.......
