AR castle nut spring needed

Recommended Posts

Put a qd end plate and lost that spring. Not the one with the pin for the buffer tube. Locally in Chattanooga can these be found or do need to go online? If I go online what other pins, springs should I get since I'm going to pay shipping. thanks

When you look, it's called the take down pin detent spring. Same one is used for the front pivot pin.

And the little detent itself stayed in there, right? If not, you'll need it also.

Give me your address.

Also, here is a tip to prevent it from happening again. Take a 4-40 tap and tap the rear detent hole. Only go deep enough for the shortest 4-40 screw you can find. Grind the spring to remove the small amount as the set screw is long. Then install like normal and use the 4-40 set screw to capture the spring and detent. I do it to every AR I build to save the aggravation.

This is a great idea! Thank you for the tip.
