Impact Sport hearing protection opinions?

I have been looking at these for a while now but am worried they won't provide enough hearing protection for me when shooting indoors.

These seem to be by far the most popular choice within that price range. Can anyone provide some feedback one way or the other on them? I am currently having to double up with ear plugs and a cheap set of winchester muffs that do fine. Just very bulky.

I also double up with muffs over plugs indoors.   The muffs I use are somewhat low profile, though not quite as thin as these.  They only get in the way a little with a couple of my rifles.  The NRR rating of 22 seems kinda low to me, particularly for shooting indoors.

I was wanting these not only for the electronic portion but also for the low profile. I may be stuck with using a set of low profile standard muffs and earplugs. My hearing is really sensitive and I'm just not gonna spend $200 or more on ear pro right now. I'm sure it's worth it but I'm not that good yet haha.

I have a set of these, maybe different model but I reviewed it here:

I've got the ones in your link. I don't need to double up indoors with them unless someones shooting a rifle a lane or two from me. They do a good job of amplification (3X I think) but get a little white noise the higher they're turned up. I usually only have mine at a little over half volume and can hear voices fine indoors. They're not bulky at all and one of the most comfortable sets I've used.

Meant to tell you, try out my pro ears muffs next time at the range. They are the Gold series, to me a little larger, but you can at least try the brand out and see if it is good on your ears

Just dawned on me I have some of these in the range box. I know we have the classifier this Wednesday but the following feel free to grab them out of the pelican case and try them. Those and the pro ears stay in there for extras now. I did like them and for the money are great.

I have a set, and a couple of sets of the Caldwells. The Howard Leight don't work near as well for me because of the seal. They work fine if I can get them to seal against my head. The Caldwells just work better for me.

I have a nice pair of Peltors.  I always use ear plugs with them as my hearing is pretty sensitive.  The advantage of the $80 Peltor's I have is not that they provide more hearing protection,  but that they let you hear people talking, thus with plain ear muffs and ear plugs I can't hear and with the Peltor's and ear plugs I can.

Also, I've noticed that product reviews on Amazon for gun products are often much higher than the same product at a gun specific e-tailer.

I attribute that based more folks that aren't really serious about guns get things from Amazon, but that more picky folks on other sites grade them harder.

I have those, and they don't necessarily seal around your ears great like Mike said.  I always use another set of earplugs anyway.

Well I ended up driving around all day looking at different sets and ended up ordering the Impact Sports. For $40 I guess they are worth a shot and worst case I still wear plugs under them but can turn the volume up to be able to hear what everyone is saying. Thanks for all the feedback.
