I wish Mr. Brainard would have had a carry permit. It would have turned out much different I believe...........jmhp

Carry permit secondary -- he simply needed a GUN!

Things like this are going to become more commonplace IMHO. Dirtbags are becoming more brazen all the time. Sad thing about Mr. Brainard....I hope he fully recovers soon.

I've worked with Dave a few time.He is a great person. Any new updates on him and the case?

Dave is at home recovering from surgery, but it's gonna be a long road to full recovery. He's in good spirits, though.

So does anyone have any clues as to why he was attacked? I didnt read the posted link but I saw on the news that the suspects were dressed in formal clothes.  So crazy that this happened and no one knows who it was

EDIT: so I read the article.  I did not realize they were hit by the car first.  So was this just a case of some dbags mad at pedestrians crossing the street?

There are crosswalks there where pedestrians cross a lot. It was random as far as I know. They kept trying to get out of the way and the car tried to hit them.

I'd sure like to know the reason for the attack. That kind of anger out of both assailants, and to the extreme demonstrated, is just weird. $7,500 bond seems awful small. What are we missing?

Agreed. It has seemed like something has been passed over?

Well dressed people in an Infiniti SUV dont seem like the types to just go out and attack somebody...something else is definitely going on here...business deal gone bad maybe?

But they had to go to a wedding party to figure out who they were. If it was a business deal then you'd think the couple would have just said who the attackers were.

I know, its either the most random crime in the world or they knew him from somewhere and happened to see him crossing the street and popped him with a car.

My Occam's Razor theory is that the perps left the wedding reception headed home (or somewhere else). Brainard and DeLoach were crossing the street as the perps drove through and nearly hit them. Words were exchanged and the douche nozzles got out of their car to kick some ass. Simple case of alcohol + assholeitude. I'll be very surprised if there was some prior knowledge of one another. Male perp is an account manager at a cabling/wire company.

That's my suspicion as well.

Yep, there's no personal or business connection. As for whether or not words were exchanged, I can't say for sure. I know that every time I've almost been hit by a car I use some choice words, but that's not really in Dave's character. He is sincerely is one of the nicest guys ever.

It's funny, on the male perp's bio from a business website it says that God is the most important thing to him. I guess he missed in the sermon the part about not being a rage filled piece of shit.
