Huntin line-up

I know, it's still a ways off but.

I've been workin up the huntin loads for the up coming seson.

So I took a pic. of the rifles that will get an opportunity this year.

Now I'm sure alot of you may only a couple of canidates, or a single one.

Heck lets see 'em.

 

Left to right.

Henry BB 44 mag. will get a chance or two in the woods.

444Marlin, t-4 as some call it, Took a nice doe with this one a couple years ago, on the second day of ownership. 135 yd smackdown.

Sears model 45 J.C.Higgins 35 Rem. made by Marlin, hunted this one a little last year, but never scored.

then the Marlin Express, its a 308 MX, should be nice in a couple of the cutovers, or open spaces. 

And an ole Glenfield 30-30.

No bolt actions this year for me, will be a few Ruger revolvers in the mix though

That's a good lookin' line up of shootin' hardware,Sidinman. You should be able to pretty much handle anything Madison County sends your way. Some good open country huntin' around there for sure. I realize we're mostly talking deer huntin' here, but I'm just curious if there are still any quail left around there?

I mainly hunt with Primitive Muzzleloaders and here is my lineup:

 

62 cal French Fussel De Chase (roughly 16 gauge) She's my squirrel gun when used with 80 grains of 3F and 1.5oz's of #6 shot. A patched .622 ball works fantastic for deer.

 

 

 

Number 2:   50 cal Custom built Kentucky Flintlock Rifle. Very deadly and accurate.

 

 

And as a last resort I'll break out the Old Confederate 6 pounder loaded with grape shot!! LOL

Good looking guns guys! 

 

My hunting guns are from left to right: 1981 Marlin 336 in 35Rem with Vortex 1.75-5x32, Remington Model Seven 7mm-08 3-9x40 Nikon Buckmaster, Savage model 10 .308win 3-9×40 Vortex Viper and 6.8 SPCII AR15 3-9×40 Nikon Prostaff BDC.

But my absolute favorite is my Savage smokeless 50cal muzzleloader. Shooting 44gr of AA5744 over a black MMP sabot and a 300gr Hornady XTP. Killed 5 with it last year.

Ruger Gunsite in .308. Topped off with a  Swarovski z6i 1-6x magnification. Suppressed so I don't have to wear ear pro and throwing a Remington core-lokt in 180gr. Should be a good setup for stand or stalking.

My first choice:
Martin Firecat bow, GoldTip arrows, Muzzy100 broadheads


My scouting/light-weight/when I don't feel like a scope rifle:
1946 Winchester 94, .30WCF


My primary go-to bolt rifle:
Savage 110, 30-06, Luepold scope since this pic. I'll take this one during any kind of weather and into a tree stand without worry of scratching it up. Tack driver!!

My nostalgia bolt rifle:
Rock Island Arsenal 1903, sporterized stock, 30-06, nikon scope. Given to me by my grandfather, so I'll take this one on easy, fair weather hunts where it's not likely to get damaged.

Handgun:
Ruger SBH, .44mag, 2x scope. I'll take it if I feel like a handgun or if it's raining hard (holstered under a rain coat)

Muzzleloader:
CVA optima 50cal inline with scope or Traditions side-hammer percussion 50cal carbine with iron sights (killed the most deer with this one!)

Gregintenn, I like that lever action Savage (99?). What caliber is it? I've liked Savages all my life, and have a few. Good looking gun.
