Mag sticking on new Glock 43

So picked up a new G43 about a week ago and noticed the magazine seems to getting stuck on he mag release. Definitely have to mash down hard on the mag release to get the mag to drop. It's defintiley not a clean release. Anyone else had this issue? Believe it or not this is my first new Glock purchase but I am quite surprised given their reputation for iron clad reliability.

Examine the notch on the magazine where the magazine release touches it while inside the magwell.  If there is any excess plastic, carefully remove it with a razor.  If that doesn't work, replace the magazine release.

Also, since it is an ambi release, make sure that when you depress the button with your thumb that you're not "stopping the travel of the release" on the other side of the pistol.

If you can't get it figured out, either go back to where you got and it they will get it resolved or call the factory. They WILL do nothing less than make it 100%. They are great.

It's not just yours; it is a known issue with all of them to a degree.

Time for Vickers to come up with a 40 dollar one, I guess. His magazine releases are pricey, but work real good :)

If you never plan to reverse it there is a fix that can be done with the factory release. Edited by Patton

Has Glock offered any explanation for this? I guess I could just swap it out myself. Not worth the pain of shipping it for just a mag release.

The issue has to do wit the magazines lightweight and shape. People are filing the bottom off the mag release so it will load and eject cleaner. I don't know that Glock is offering a fix.

This issue develops over time with some high use Glock pistols and magazines. IMO not worth sending to Glock, super easy fix. Those that rip mags from guns on reloads will not have this issue. Additionally, if you add the Taran baseplate that may help it drop free due to the extra weight.
