Stolen handgun

So long story short, I had a Dan Wesson Guardian in .38 Super stolen from my car, in my driveway, sometime Thursday night to Friday morning.  Gun is a bobtail commander 1911, black, with wood DW grips.  Had one, 8-round magazine in it.  Serial Number 1405865.  Police report is filed and I doubt I'll see it again, but I'm throwing it out there just in case.  I posted this in the Handgun forum as well.

That sucks, hope they catch the bastards. Did they target the gun or just part of a general vehicle break-in?

They got lucky.  I forgot it in the car after running some errands and doing the right thing at a posted "No guns" establishment.  Then I didn't lock the car that night, of all nights.  That was the only thing in the car.

From a resent read on another forum don't be surprised if you make an insurance claim and if they realize that the car was not locked which is evident by the fact that it was not "broken into" that the claim may be denied due to owner neglagence...
