Driveway contractor suggestions

I need my driveway redone. I have had several companies come by and give me quotes. I was dumbfounded at the quotes. They have ranged from 6k to 12k, we do not have a parking lot or anything like that. 50 ft of it is 25ft wide and 68ft of it is 11ft wide. It is a larger driveway but by no means a 6k driveway. The quotes are all for filling the potholes and laying a 2inch of fresh asphalt on top. Input on what some others have paid for a driveway and if these quotes seem fair. If you know anyone that does driveways and you would trust them to do yours let me know.

So just did some quick math and I came up with 37 tons of asphalt at 2" not knowing how big or how many pot holes you have if we add 3 tons and bring it up to an even 40 tons which should only be 2 truck loads and it shouldn't take maybe 6hrs to lay it down correctly. Not knowing who they get asphalt from you can figure about 80 dollars a ton. So thats around 3,200 just for the material. The rest is dependent on the size of the crew and whether they have their own truck or they are using contract trucks. Hope this helps. And who ever you end up going with get the asphalt tickets from them just to make sure they aren't shorting you on the tonnage

LOL  I know how you feel. I have about 225 feet and a section like the top of a "T" that's about 50x20.

The old split top is there for the duration as far as I'm concerned.
