Got this error message when trying to post a photo into a new thread: "You are not allowed to use that image extension in this community".

It is the image url for the photo from my Google+ photos. Any ideas? I've posted in the past with no glitches.

Thanks.

Yes. I've gotten that error too. The URL needs to end with jpg, gif, tiff, or other common photo extension.

If you're doing "copy image location" straight out of the image search, try clicking "view image" and then copy the URL.

Thanks for the suggestion peejman.

I've tried both a straight copy of image location and also tried adding .jpg.

No joy so far. Will keep experimenting a bit.  :-\

Having seen your thread, google's not set up for sharing like that. You need a more purpose built photo hosting service like photobucket or smugmug.

I use Tapatalk to post photos to eliminate having a dedicated photo hosting account.  It works good and the pictures are not blocked at work.

Yep, time for a more straightforward hosting service.

Google+ must have changed something or my "technique" changed. : /

Google+ changed a few weeks back. Have to use the old version to get the .jpg URL.

Thread resurrection.

Looks like Google finally pulled the plug on this all together today or recently.  I used Picasa for years and up until just late last week and now even Picasa takes you only to Google +.  I guess it's time to find a new photo hosting service.

I just signed up for SmugMug as recommended by Peejman.  Costs a little, but seems to have a lot of good options.   You can also sell pics on it, so I may try that for the fun of it.  I am not great, but have some good pics now and then.

See if you can use my referral code... It saves us both a few bucks.

I actually used the one from another thread, so you should get it.  I did give me the discount.

Thanks.
