If you let your mouse pointer hover over a members name a message pops up on the bottom left

of your screen that has a number. Is this the number list of members from 1 to what ever.

I did see TODDavid is number 3. Mine is number 14899

Not sure it affects anything but it seems to correlate to your join date.

It's simply the link to your public profile, shows like any link you hover over on any site,  and yeah, the number seems to be progressive in order of when registered. Newbies are in the 26,250+ range. Which means that about 2,600 have been un-personed. :)
