O knows global warming

An excerpt from Obama's address to a 'global warming summit' hosted by California governor Schwarzenegger:

"Few challenges facing America -- and the world – are more urgent than combating climate change," he says in the video. "The science is beyond dispute and the facts are clear. Sea levels are rising. Coastlines are shrinking. We’ve seen record drought, spreading famine, and storms that are growing stronger with each passing hurricane season. Climate change and our dependence on foreign oil, if left unaddressed, will continue to weaken our economy and threaten our national security."

I'll say it again. Many of us will be freezing in the dark, in the next 3 or 4 years, if this man has his way. Six sentences, six lies. He has to know better; AGW (global warming) has been thouroughly debunked on every level. Given that he has enough functioning brain cells to realize this, one has to wonder what he is really attempting to do.

seems like the demos really believe that if they tell a lie often enough everyone will believe it look at what type of people elected obama:screwy:

you got to realize that its all about the big oil companies.. if they don't make their money, they aren't happy. We could have 100% gas-free cars. Electric or Hydrogen. Hydrogen is EASY to make, and stable generator are available. The guy who tried to get his generator patented was killed…

Its like computers. Do you REALLY think that each month, Intel engineers walk into the bosses office and say "Boss!!! Major break through, we got a NEW CPU that is 200 mhz faster!" Noooo... they build these things, tone them down to only run at a certain speed. Then they make a warehouse full of them, then the supply starts to go down they release the same CPU, just clocked alittle faster. And the same thing goes for cars, we COULD have cars getting 70-100 MPG but then the gas companies would be loosing to much money.

There was a group of engineers that got together and redesigned a Toyota car (.. which I believe are the people who have the car in the link below..). They are getting 150 MPG in a car thats only suppose to get 60-75 MPG. It just boils down to the car companies being controlled or in business with the gas companies.

I wonder if this statement is true or has it been told so many times people believe it to be true :D

Because Exxon-Mobil owns the coal power plants?

Yes, it is easy to make. All you need is lots of fresh water, and lots of electricity. Wait, wasn't a water shortage going to be a severe problem? And even so, losing the 2/3rds of the countries' power supplied by coal plants may present a tiny little flaw in this plan.

The guy who tried to get his generator patented was killed…

I think I missed that episode of X-files. Would you happen to have a link to a police report, newspaper story, anything of that nature?

And the same thing goes for cars, we COULD have cars getting 70-100 MPG but then the gas companies would be loosing to much money.

Right, because the gas companies (who, in order to make this nefarious plan work, have to have control of domestic auto production) would prefer to lose billions of dollars with uncompetitive products, rather than make untold billions selling gasoline to people who can afford to buy it.

It just boils down to the car companies being controlled or in business with the gas companies.

And this cunning plan to achieve bankruptcy on a massive scale is succeeding admirably.

Priced a Lithium-ion pack recently? Because if I can save 10,000 in fuel costs over the life of a car that costs 200,000 more than a standard sedan, I'm going to rush right out and... Oh. Never mind.

Look, I'm not trying to make fun of you, or make you mad, but the holes in your argument could comfortably pass a C-5. Please think about this.

I was talking about the auto industry which also contributes to global warming.

Salt water works just fine actually

No I do not, just hear say.

Do you have a better explanation? I mean do you think that Ford spends millions of dollars in research and developement to increase 10 horsepower and 1 more MPG in the new 2009 model cars? (just hypothetical) Or are the car companies just releasing something "alittle better" then before because its feeding us..No I am not some conspiracy theorist, just my take on the big picture.

I understand it has flaws, just my 2 cents...

Bull**** - how about terrorism, states rights, border control, socialism, etc, etc.
he says in the video. "The science is beyond dispute and the facts are clear.
Bull**** - but everyone on the left coast believes it - and they don't get it when I talk about global warming you can shove...
Sea levels are rising. Coastlines are shrinking.
Bull**** and bull**** - we have gone (past tense) through a warm spell due to sunspot activity - hey, anyone notice that gigantic nuclear reactor in the sky lately?
We’ve seen record drought, spreading famine, and storms that are growing stronger with each passing hurricane season.
More bull**** - for two seasons the global alarmists have predicted record numbers and strengths of storms - hasn't happened - but that doesn't make news.
Climate change and our dependence on foreign oil, if left unaddressed, will continue to weaken our economy and threaten our national security."
Bull**** - climate change will only weaken the economy if we buy into the bull****. I could get behind getting off foreign oil but with the no drill **** with the dems - how's that going to happen, exactly?

I'll say it again. Many of us will be freezing in the dark, in the next 3 or 4 years, if this man has his way.

He lied his ass off to get elected - he's lying now - nothing has changed.

My say in the matter - I totally agree with you, Mark... but the hordes that voted for him believe the bs...

What global warming? Global temps have been decreasing the last two years. Sky. Sun. Big heater. Heck, check the weather reports.

Salt water works just fine actually

Not really, cleaning the tank adds complexity, corrosion, cost and time. But yeah, you can use salt water. Not what I'd call cheap, and the energy has to come from somewhere.

No I do not, just hear say.

Yep. A version of this has been around for about 80 years - no kidding. The original version was a guy filling the tank on his model T from a farmers waterpump.

Do you have a better explanation?

Yep. You want a fuel efficient vehicle, its' doable. You want a fuel efficient car that has both reasonable performance and an extra thousand pounds of payload in the form of mandated airbags, mandated smog controls, mandated crash bumpers, etc. etc. ad nauseum, you have a problem. Friend of mine drives a 15 yr old Toyota that gets better mileage than the same car today. Difference? emission controls, crappy gas and the govts' requirements. California puts so much 'anti-smog' crap in its' gas, they have to add chemicals to make it burn!

Occams Razor. Easier explanation, no conspiricy theory required, fits the facts at hand. Or to put it another way, an old saying goes "Never attribute to evil what can be accounted for by stupidity".
