The worst deal

What is the absolute worst deal you have ever seen on a gun advertised in the classifieds (or gunshop, gunshow). This is prompted by an ad I saw on golsn today that wanted WAYYYYYY too much money for a $275 gun (listed for more than double). I will wait to hear your responses and then tell you what the worst one I have seen is.

LSN is well-known for such ad's.

I see "P" series Ruger's for $500-$600 on a regular basis.

Just such an ad is what prompted this. :koolaid:

Ever been to Gander Mountain? I can't believe the fools setting the prices there have jobs...feel sorry for the schmucks that work there.

But if you really want a $800 Redhawk...they have'em

Do people actually buy at that price?

Yeah. The one in Knoxville is pretty busy when I stop in every now and then. There's always at least a couple people filling out a 4473. I think people go in there expecting that a big store like GM is going to have some good deals and don't take the time to shop around. I wont lie, their long gun selection is pretty impressive, but the prices are stupid. They had a Mosin Nagant M44 there once, and I think they were selling it for $160ish. They must have sold it since I never saw it again.

Every pawn shop that I've been to has crazy prices. And I was at Gander Mountain a while back, they had 3 used Ruger mini14's at $699.99. BUT they had a new one for $649.99. I asked the guy behind the counter about it and his remarke was "I dont sit the prices BUD"

There are a couple of gunshops in the region that have been getting kind of screwy lately, one has an ad running that lists Colt ARs for $2500(+) and another one has stopped putting their prices on the tags and is working from a clipboard of "daily" prices.

I just don't get it. How can you screw your customers like that and expect return business?

Here in Memphis, we have a local gunshop that is known for it's high prices and not too overly friendly staff. The last tiem I was in there, they had a Sig P6 import, in not too good condition for $479. I laughed my way out the door as I had just bought one online, delivered and OTD for $300.
