Someone told me there was a gun shop within 10 miles of each other here in TN. Not to say they'll have what you want though but I'm sure they could order it.

Appears true around Nashville anyway. Edited by kieefer

Plenty of gun shops in Nashville I think, just not many that carry old surplus Mausers it seems.

I think Rutherford County has a great selection of shops as well. I've got more than a handfull to choose from within 10 minutes of my house, and they all have been great to me.

You came to the conclusion that there aren't enough gun shops because none of the ones that do exist have precisely the item you want?  That seems to make sense.

I will concede that Nashville hasn't exactly hit what I would think of as being the saturation point for gun shops yet, but the logic behind your conclusion is pretty thin.

Look at how many have opened up in the past few years. Royal Range, Nashville Armory, Everything Weapons, I think there is probably one or two more. I know Guns for America closed, as well as that gun store that was in Rivergate.

This is totally based on my perception, but it seems like the market is getting better with more options than it was a few years ago.

its not really anyone not have what I'm looking for more that there just to me seems like not a lot of shops in Nashville compared to other parts of the state it just seems like a untapped market to me, oh and I did go to bass pro last night and got something for the sks and I saw a couple of lever guns that peaked my interests lol

Edit forgot to add, places that sells guns and stuff for guns are like toy stores but for adults

The local shops seem to have their own flavors, they usually stock mainstream stuff from distributors a few cases of low cost, and trades. Some have fair prices ammo, some don't , some are nice some are rude, I'm glad to see some are still there and survived net purchasers buying online instead o local.I've been to almost all of the local shops and they're all unique in a weird way. Some places carry small parts some don't.. We've seen some good guys close and leave and new folks come in w sunshine and vinegar.
I think mid Tn has done well w gunshops by comparison to other cities... Just sayin

In Knoxville, if you want anything old, you have to scour pawn shops as the local gun shops are almost exclusively modern black plastic guns. We have nothing like Franklin Gunshop...probably a good thing as I'd be broke.
