I finally gave up on trying to find a 9mm Sub 2000 (for now) and bought a Hi Point 995 at the gun show in Smyrna yesterday. Unfortunately I won't have time to take it to the range today, and likely next weekend is out too. Thoughts that go through my head:

The more I hold it the more I like the existing stock that comes with it.

I just wish someone would make a carbine that took BHP mags, as that is the only 9mm pistol I own.

Just watch - sometime in the next 30 days I will run across a reasonably priced Sub2000 in 9mm.

Here's a photo of the new stock, taken in the HiPoint factory. It is in development, not in production...

Did they have to get the guy with the "Tennessee Waterfall" to pose in the picture? :poop:

I bought one early this year all of my friends had been talking them up, and i couldnt get past the high point rep, I finally gave in and bought a 995 got it right around 200.00 thought i might get a couple hundred rounds out of it anyway, and get my buddies off my back about trying one, well after about 2500 to 3000 rounds the dang thing is still firing perfect it has never even missfired, and i have fired the cheapest junk i could find through it. needless to say i am pretty impressed with the little ugly thing and my buddies say "TOLD YOU SO" a lot.

I would seriously consider one for the right price. They have gotten very good reviews everywhere I've looked. That new stock definitely takes away the ugly factor.

Actually I think the new stock is even uglier, but to each their own.

The ATI stock is attractive, but I've read that they can take a fair amount of work to get "just right." They aren't a drop-in-and-shoot thing.

Me and a buddy picked two of these up today. When I saw them I remembered this thread and thought it would be fun to have, then he quoted us a price if we bought both. So we walked out with one each. Just need a few extra mags and some time to shoot. Hopefully tomorrow.

I was wanting one but, I came across a Marlin Camp 9 for $250 so I bought it instead. And it uses S&W mags, now I need to get me a S&W pistol to go with it,

 Well, I guess I'm drinking the cool-aid now. I just picked up one at the show for $225 with a NCStar 4 power scope on it. Thought it was a fair price. Picked up a couple of spare 15 round magazines too. Paid to much for them, but who knows if we are going to be able to pick them up in the future. I'll let you all know how it shoots in a weekend or two.:P

I assume the 15 round mags stick out the bottom of the pistol grip a few inches????

Just a little bit, say two inches. There is a plastic piece around it, so that it looks like a grip extention. Actually, I'm not sure I paid that much more. Their on very cheap on line either.:D

Those 15-rounders (by ProMag I think) get mixed reviews. They either work fine, or they never do. I hope yours work for you.

I hate that the Hi-Point factory mags are only ten rounds, but they feed real well.

I e-mailed Hi-Point last night about getting a rear sight since on the one I got it was missing. In less then an hour and half I got an e-mail back asking for my mailing address. Got another one this morning saying it would be in the mail today. That is great customer service.

Here is a 995 carbine with the ATI stock, Bushman's Top Rail, Slant Rail, and Charging Handle all Duracoated in matte black, along with the receiver cover and machined aluminum trigger (natural). Big improvement. Once optics are mounted, I'll post additional photos.

I've had one ordered for awhile.

Those modifications sure make it look more like an Evil Black Rifle.

But I think I'll be satisfied with just a NBR (Naughty Black Rifle).

deleted, same reason

Well I am, but don't want to stiff CCA :-)

And btw, you really aren't supposed to "sell" though the regular posting sections, don't want you to get smacked by admins.

I see you haven't been around long enough to put in the classifieds, but if you become "benefactor" (donate to TGO) you can right away. Certainly be worth it if you have stuff to sell ... the 995 would certainly go quick, I'm sure. Besides, TGO needs all the help it can get right now..

Im sorry about that. I just skimmed the rules when I signed up. You will def like the gun though, and I wouldn't want you to stiff CCA either. There are some good guys over there and thats just a bad way of doin business.

Yeah, well, he hasn't gotten one yet, but has gone to effort of ordering, so it'll come my way eventually. I just need the couple of more pieces to maybe survive first week of Armageddon, and I don't believe that's scheduled until sometime in March.

But seriously, if you have interesting stuff to sell at fair prices, TGO classifieds is a great way to go.

OS, did ever get your NBR?

I've had my NBR for quite a while and finally put some rounds thru it. Only 50, but it's fun to shoot and seams very accurate, although only shot at 25yds. Can't wait to get to a 100yd and feed it a whole bunch.:D:)
