NEEDED !!>> List of all TN ranges <<!! (all of TN)

Hey All,

Summary:

---------------------------

We need to have new a section, or a permanently pinned post in 'general' for TN 'ranges'.

This needs to be a listing of both private and public ranges. Any range, whether it be rifle, pistol, bow, or bazooka. Fees or not fees, invite only, or no invite - lets get it listed.

Yes, This would be a living document, and would have to be manually made, and manually kept up to date.

I am not sure of permission control(s) - but if the owners could make this members editable, we can keep it alive if you wish. So long as it is posted at the top somewhere, forever.

Reason(s):

---------------------------

1.) This is something that simply does not exist anywhere.

          I have searched hi and low - this does not exist. There are very old lists from 'way back', but they are grossly out of date and the links that they reference no longer work, etc.

2.) TNgunowners would have a monopoly on this, and it would drive a large amount of additional traffic to the site. (aka more $$ for ad rev..)

3.) Some ranges are not posted on the internet, the only people that know of them are those that have heard by word of mouth or experience.

          I would say this is the largest collection of gun owners and range go-ers in TN, and this is the best place find the people that would be able to help build the list.

Personal Reason(s):

---------------------------

1.)  I recently built a sweet long-range rig... but can't find anywhere to shoot it past 200yrds.... which I am having trouble locating a place (obviously)

2.)  I have been to several Gun ranges around - some I would have avoided if there were post on them here that were findable. (One range I went to - there was several idiots, one to mention was  unloading his pistol gangsta style repeatedly (looked like a chubby white 15 year old, without any parents around)).

3.)  I feel like I have exhausted the ~4 'finable' rifle ranges in and around mid-TN.... but I know there are more out there...

Thanks!

John

I have family east of Wilson county I like to shoot with, and friends south of Murfreesboro, friends west of Franklin, above Joelton and I do not exclusively reside in Lebanon, I work in Nashville, and live on the skirts of Wilson county west side. I would rather travel 100 miles to a long range that is high quality, over a cheesy one close by (but then again, I am not against going to either.. just preference)..

For my interests, if you know of a few, send em’ over plz.

But also I think for the sake of the site, it would still be invaluable

FWIW I agree. I found TGO via searching for a local range so I know there is something there. I recall we used to have a list, a 'living document' if you will. Not sure what happened to it but it would be nice to see it as a feature again.

There is also a range at Norris...but I don't have a link. I believe the local Moose Lodge also has a range....someone on here should have details on these two.

Hope this helps. I know I would have appreciated the info when I first moved into the area.

Excellent, thank you ALL.

See this is the second point I was getting to - this site has the people, and I think a perm-post for ranges would be quite beneficial

Anyhow, I checked out all the links, some ranges are quite nice. Definitely a whole day trip any direction, but worth it.

I managed to wrangle a "Gallatin Gun Club" (http://www.gallatingun.com/), but it has a 3-4 year long waiting list... I might wise up and buy some land and plop down a range in north east Nashville one day ($$$)

I think I will head down to strategic edge in Chapel Hill TN quite soon to check it out

Thanks All,

Keep posting if you so please. Perhaps if we can keep this chain rolling we can prove the merits of a formal page....
