New from Nebraska

Hello group,
I am new to hunting in Tennessee, although I have done my share of deer and pheasant hunting back in Nebraska where I originate. I am looking to try out turkey and dove hunting this year. May try doing some deer hunting as well with my rifle. The toughest part of hunting in a new state is finding out where to hunt! I appreciate any and all advice to a newcomer. I live in the Knoxville area if that helps anyone, although I am willing to drive to get myself and my dog a few nice chances at doves!

Good luck finding a hot dove field....  those are guarded like gold.

 

I have not been on a good field since 1980.

 

TWRA manages or leases a  some that are fair.

Chuck Swan WMA is usually OK, but with TWRA budget, one never knows.

 

You can certainly scout off of the lists above.

Here is turkey harvest data.  You can search on years, county, WMA, etc.
