Anybody know of an FFL that will take a transfer from a private party for a long gun? Preferably in the Franklin area.

I usually use Music City Pawn but I don't think they will do a private party.

I stopped by the Saddle Shop and spoke with Bill but no luck on the transfer from a private party. He did have a nice Winchester 61 behind the counter though :)

I have checked a few myself and have found none that would.

Just offer to pay the transfer on both ends if you really want the rifle, if the seller baulks

there just might be something wrong and you do not want to get into that mess.

I think Redd has the best input.

Yeah, I don't know of anyone on this side of town that does it. When I lived in CO nobody did it until it was mandatory. It wasn't worth the retailer's time. Then it became law for private sale and everyone got in the business at $50 a head.

Call Tony or Ryan at Maximus Arms in Franklin.

We did lots of transfers from individuals, just gotta talk to him first.

Thanks for the information. I ended up going in a different direction. I think the seller just did not want to go through the effort to deal with the FFL on his side. He ended up selling it locally.
