Folks, I'd like to get some opinions, especially from owners of this pistol. I might have an opportunity to trade my P250 9mm for a P220R carry. I have read of some folks having extractor issues with p220's.

I had one, it was a nice gun but I prefered the full size 220 over the carry, but that's just me. Mine, a DAK model, shot great and I had zero issues (with 500> rounds). The extractor problem seems to be more prevalent in the Carry than the other 220 models. Sig now produces 220s with external extractors to solve that issue.

I purchased a P220R Carry this summer (see avatar). It is one with an external extractor. I have put about 1000 rounds thru it so far with not one problem.

It is by far my favorite handgun that I own, I would highly recommend one. Its the most accurate handgun I have ever shot....

I have heard of the problems with some with the internal extractors. I have a P220 full size with an internal extractor and it has yet to give me problem.......

Both mine have been flawless......

I had one for a few months. Very accurate, very reliable. Unfortunately it was also heavier than, thicker than, and carried the same number of rounds as a 4-inch model 1911. To me, it made no sense to carry the SIG when it was bulkier than a 1911 but had no distinct advantages over a 1911 other than being... well... a SIG.

I purchased one about a year ago. It had issues and had to immediately be sent back to Sig for some re-tuning and polishing. Once it returned it was flawless. I used it for a class and fired over 750 rds in 2 days. No issues at all. Nice gun.

However, I traded it away soon after. I thought it balanced weird and didn't care for the shape and proportion of the grip. I vote NO and stick with a 1911. The 1911 sits lower in the hand and just feels better.
