So am sitting here on my iPad looking on the gun broker app when I see the following

From the pics it's a 1942 and doesn't seem to be anything special unless I'm blind! 500 bucks for a run of the mill mosin, this seller also sells lots of form 3 machine guns

To an untrained eye it looks like a regular Mosin, but this one shoots the rare 7.62x54 ammo. :)

that is a pretty sweet deal.  Must be the rifle Jude Law used. Greatest Ruskie sniper ever he was.

And funniest of all is some guy around here was selling one and only wanted a reasonable amount for it.

Tell ya what I'm gonna do.  I have a super rare '42 Mosin that was made right here in Knoxville...says TGI KNOX TN right there on the barrel.  I'll let it go for $1000

In my mind, that isn't trolling for a sucker.  The proper description would be dishonest scumbags looking to take advantage of folks who are less informed than them.

I like what my buddy Bill said the other day, 'Character is how you treat people that are at a lower level than you, whether lower power, a subordinate, or someone with less knowledge than you."

All of us are less informed at times.  I simply have no respect for taking advantage of others.

When I bought my first Mosin about 5 years ago, I said to myself, this is easily a $300 gun....    I'm glad I got another one about a month ago for $180.....     Who knows what they'll be priced at in 5-10 years!

While there are some on this list that are very obviously priced well over the market, close to half of the ones listed are either at, or near their current market values.  This list includes very few of the common 91/30 refurbs that can be bought for $150 - $200 ...

You want to find suckers?  Go to a local flea market or a public auction.  PT Barnum was right!  You talk about low gun information crowd.  I have witnessed some stupid transactions!  Either they were felons, or just dumb idiots!

I have been on the other end, scored yard sale finds.  Divorce yard sales are the best!

The last time I paid attention to Powell Auction, a local auction company, selling firearms the prices went insane on most. I seen run of the mill Taurus pistols bringing close to $400 before the insane commission and required fees.

People loose their mind during an auction and not just gun auctions. Maybe it is a race or a respect thing for being the winner that drives prices but most auctions these days have people over paying.
