I want a Springfield mod 2 9mm

At least I think I do. I have and carry a ppks I have owned for 20 years. I love it but it is only 7 rounds of 380. The mod 2 holds 13 rounds of 9mm in a not much larger package. And contrary to public opinion, I like the "grip zone"

Sort of dorky cool...

Any opinions good or bad about this gun?

Well aside from the grip zone nonsense imprinted on the guns grip I can't offer any significant negatives on the SA Mod2 9mm. I've no desire to sell or trade my XDs9 in order to purchase one though. The bottom line is if you want it buy it.

I haven't had a MOD2 but have had 3 different XD45s and one XDM9. Excellent guns never had a problem.

Somehow I always keep going back to a XD45, maybe I should just keep one lol

I've had several SA XD pistols in 9mm, 40 and 45 during the last few years.  Each has been dependable and accurate.
