Sportsmans 58 Forend

Anyone know where a man could find Remington Sportsman 58 forend? Since its gas operated I'm afraid a repair won't hold up. This is not my gun but a friend. The gun has sentimental value and he wants to be able to shoot it more than anything.

I would use some high quality two part epoxy to glue it. A joint using quality glue will be stronger than the wood itself. I know I would not be worried about it.

Use rubber bands to hold it together while the epoxy dries. I would use 1 hour epoxy to give you time to make sure everything is perfect before drying.

And do not try to sand or file the joint. It is better to leave all the rough edges, nooks and crannies for the glue to grab a hold of.

Or, if you want, send it to me and I will do it for you.

I was going to say 2-Ton epoxy, but it hardens pretty fast. Holds like crazy though. I just used it to glue my rearview mirror back on.

But you don't want it to harden before you get everything fitted perfectly, so use the 1-Hour stuff.
