Here's just some things to throw out for the next President.

1st. (mostly symbolic), instruct NASA to quickly build a simple reliable space recovery lander and evacuate our American astronauts from the space station, send no more until we have a delivery and lander of our own and no more space business with the Russians whatsoever.

2nd. Raise or add tarriffs on Chinese imports. Tax breaks for U.S. businesses for every new U.S. citizen employee hired and tax breaks for buying U.S. made products.

3rd. Place a missile defense system in Poland, open more business and trade talks with Poland.

4th. Immediately stop all talks and deals with Iran, increase sanctions and place sanctions on anyone doing business with Iran.

5th. Add more missile defense systems in Israel and Jordan.

6th. Make it an official and clear U.S. policy that any offensive use of a nuclear weapon against any ally would result in full and overwhelming immediate nuclear retaliation from the U.S.

7th. Arm the Kurds, tell Turkey to lay off the Kurds or whatever aid we send to them will cease. Provide intel and logistic support for any "ally" (not Iran), fighting ISIS right now.

8th. Increase the total size of our military personnel, meet and discuss with real military leaders, not politicians about what programs and weapons to cut or scrap, spend that money on superior modern weapons and programs. Sell our scraped but usable weapons to our allies.

9th. Temporary end all nuclear reduction talks until further notice.

10th. Start a program to build a stealth rocket and satellite that can't be detected from launch to delivery.

Then see who wants to start talking.

Oh yea, one more thing. Immediately include sidearm combat training for "every" new recruit in basic training in all branches of the military no matter what their MOS is. Buy more M9's made in Tennessee.

I can't follow Donald Trump. In tonight's debate he talked of making donations to politicians not because he supported them, but for the favors that they would be obliged to return. He didn't condemn the practice, he only acknowledged it. He used bankruptcy laws to feather his own financial nest, regardless of the people who would be put out of work. He says he's the only one who can save America, yet our history was written by the many good and sacrificial things which groups of people did for the whole, rather than what a single individual accomplished for himself. Watching Trump tonight, I couldn't help but compare him to the performance of Robert DeNiro as Al Capone in The Untouchables. Watch the character's attitude and mannerisms in this clip and see if you spot the similarities to Trump.

And Huckabee?  No thanks.  I can't forget those ads he made praising the virtues of Lamar Alexander.

I like Trump's attack on political correctness and his willingness to speak his mind. It is refreshing to hear someone speak directly for once. He is just playing a game by refusing to promise he won't run as a third party. By holding on to the threat of a third party candidate, he forces the GOP system to take him seriously. Also, fence-sitting primary voters may vote for him out of fear he will run as a 3rd. I think it's a smart move on his part, actually. With that said, he concerns me because who knows if/when he'll go back to being a democrat  He donated money to Hillary and other dems, used to support gun control, used to support abortion, used to support other liberal ideas, but now he's a conservative? I like what he says NOW, but his history bothers me.

Huckabee is a known quantity IMO. I've been listening to him for years. I feel like I know where he stands, and I like it. I liked what he had to say tonight, but I'm concerned about his ability to win. I'd pick him or Cruz so far. Rubio would also be a good pick. I want to see more of Dr Carson!

ETA: Any of the those on stage tonight would be infinitely better than what we've had to stomach for the last 6 years. I just hope we don't end up with Christie as the nominee  Edited by Wingshooter

This shows you where Trump is at, all for trump and none for all.

None of theses clowns impress me.  I can't imagine voting for any of them. All I hear anymore from politicians are lies and blahblah.gif blahblah.gif blahblah.gif. And Donald is....well just Donald. I find it hard taking anything he says seriously. I'm sorry but with the voter makeup of this country I don't see any of them winning.

News won't go after him, he's embedded with them too deep. Even the liberal outlets haven't zoned in on him like they have the other candidates.

I was completely wrong on this one, first question out of Megan Kelly's mouth was pretty rough.

I'm glad she did get tough with Donald, someone needed to. I know all the PC crap and name calling,(racist, sexist, homophobic, islamaphobic etc.), has become ridiculous and stupid but Donald is an actual example of a sexist who has often in the past disrespected women in a real way and not just joking around. I'm betting Donald isn't Megan's favorite in the race.

Don't even have to actually do half that, just have serious talks about doing it. Gorbachev and the Soviet Union changed their attitude in the 80's when Ronald Reagan was pushing SDI. Remind Putin that WE WILL retaliate 10 fold against some 13th century sand box if they ever use a nuke against an ally of the U.S. Right now Russia, China, and Iran laugh at America because of our weak leadership.

Remember that inauguration day 1981 when Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President was the very same day Iran released the 52 American hostages they held while we had a weak and indecisive President Carter, they knew if they didn't their time was limited. Enemies take strength seriously. Shortly after 8 years of a strong and respected President communism collapsed in Europe.

Games of brinkmanship only work when you are playing with rational actors. As far as Gorby and the USSR in the 80's, that had way more to do with their collapsing economy than anything ol' Ronnie Raygun did.

Their economy collapsed because they were scared of Reagan, spending most on their military competing with the U.S. If Mr. Peanut was re-elected it wouldn't have happened.

I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record. Donald Trump:

That sounds like someone who supports gun control.

Their economic collapse was already well under way before Reagan got into office. Reagan didn't have great policy so much as great timing. It was eaten away by the cancer from with that will always destroy centrally planned economies. It didn't matter who was in office here, the die had been cast and the course could not be turned away from the inevitable. Stay tuned here because R or D, we will see a replay of the end of the USSR. With every passing year central planners and bureaucrats take more and more control of the economy regardless of the party currently in control. Doesn't matter who is elected, the cancer has taken hold and is going to eventually kill its host.

I've seen that.

So who's your candidate?

I'm still open for a few choices, i'm going to watch the 1st debate with the other 7 later. I know who's NOT my candidates though, Trump, Christie, and Jeb. We still have a while to hear what some others have to say. I liked Huckabee's comments more than most others last night.

Gosh!!!  A lot of great opinions for sure. As I listen to Trump answer that first question it sounded like he is trying to blackmail all of the republican and conservative voters when he said he will not rule out a third party candidate run. I don't think he wold run a third party because he saw what happened when Ross Perot did it and it cost the party the election. I do look for him to run a full run right up to the point of no return and then drop out and throw his support behind a candidate. At least that is what i hope he does and is not really stupid enough to make a 3rd party run knowing he can't win.

I'm not a Trump guy but would vote for him if he got the nomination. I would like to see more out of Rubio, Carson and Cruz and maybe a little more from Huckabee which surprised me a little from his previous debates and had a more stern sound to his replies than in the past...........jmho

I've posted this elsewhere, but I don't trust Trump.  I sure hope I am wrong about his true intentions, but I don't think so.  You would think if he was serious about running as a republican he would not alienate 3/4 of the voters by insulting Women, Hispanics and Veterans.  The Republican party has had weak support from two of those three groups in the past.  If he happen to get the Republican nomination, he will lose, if the Republican's pick a strong nominee, he'll run third party to make them lose.  Either way its a sure win for Hillary.

Or a Bernie Sanders, same socialist difference. I hope he realizes if he runs a third party and causes Hillary or Sanders a win, he will be the most hated and despised man in America. This is it, the big election for me. If the American voters allow Hillary or Sanders a win i'm officially done with the system, i've had enough if that happens and I will just cop an attitude that I will just do whatever I want or feel like doing no matter what.

I'm starting to think it's looking like Bernie over Hillary.  The media wants it to be a Hillary vs. Bush election but I don't think they're going to get it with Trump and Sanders in the running.  Heck, Sanders has the college kids going wild and eating out of his hands and referring to him as the "incorruptible Bernie Sanders."

The moment the DNC believes Hillary can't win the nomination (like gets indicted or something) in goes Uncle Joe.

Well, there is both an FBI and DOJ criminal investigation going on regarding her, but yeah I know, those bureaus are as politically controlled as any. Under BHO, you might say completely throttled, really.
