Looking for good recommendations. I want a site that I can drive my truck to, set up a tent and not be right next to somebody else that is camping. Also need stuff to be able to do like fish and hike during the day. Want somewhere I can build a fire to cook on as well.

I ain't been there in a while but Montgomery Bell has always been nice.  Supposedly they've renovated a lot of their facilities.

Not sure how far you want to drive but Big Hill Pond State Park fits your description perfectly. Montgomery Bell should as well.

This area is easy to get to but I don't remember if there were campgrounds, boat ramp I'm sure of.
Off 111 near Byrdstown.

Bledsoe State forest.
Right across the road(ish) from Fall Creek Falls, without any of the amenities. Or people.
There's some great fishing, especially if you have a canoe/kayak.
It's a 5 minute drive to FCF for the hiking trails & if you're so inclined, the breakfast at the 3-way gas station headed in toward Pikeville, is excellent!

Land Between the Lakes. Get a back country permit at the park entrance and you can pull off the road in a lot of places, completely out of sight of anyone and camp right there. There are developed and semi-undeveloped sites as well.

Fire is cool, just have a way to extinguish it properly and try to use local firewood.

Plenty of fishing on/around kentucky lake, and some nice trails and historic monuments in the park as well.

FYI - LBL prohibits firearm posession other than for hunting in season and at their range.

From their FAQ page:

Q. What are your firearm restrictions?
A. Land Between The Lakes is a Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The Code of Federal Regulations concerning firearms in Land Between The Lakes (CFR 261.53E) states that possession of firearms is prohibited except during legal firearms hunting seasons and going to and from the Land Between The Lakes Target Range. Firearms must be unloaded and cased when transporting.

That law doesn't apply to LBL. It applies to lands managed by the state of TN. LBL is Corps of Engineers territory.

From the HandgunLaw link you provided, the bottom of page 5 is interesting.

Below is the information LE&I provides to the public in regards to possessing firearms at LBL NRA:

1. Possession of firearms is prohibited except during legal firearms hunting seasons by licensed hunters and going to and from the LBL NRA firearms range. Firearms must be cased and unloaded during transport.

2. Firearms possessed during legal hunting seasons by licensed hunters must be cased and unloaded (chamber + magazine) while being transported in a motorized vehicle.

3. LBL LE&I also states that the concealed firearms carry permit does not apply to LBL NRA at this time, although the LE officers at LBL will honor the concealed carry permit if there are no other aggravating circumstances. Examples of aggravating circumstances are, but not limited to, violation of the concealed carry permit itself, shooting from a roadway, or shooting outside of the LBL firearms range".

They're basically saying "it's ilegal, but unless you give us a reason to care, we don't care."
