I'm a red wasp serial killer....

Just used a whole can of wasp and hornet spray to kill large numbers of red wasps. There's a gap in the eaves, between the fascia board and soffit in the front of my house that I finally saw where red wasps were coming out so I doused it with the spray, made sure plenty got in there and a swarm of wasps came flying out many dropping. I continued to douse the gap more and more and more came flying out and dropping. No telling how many nests are up there. Also on the back there's an old hole where an outdoor light used to be that I sprayed, again a swarm started falling out. I came back in after that because the few that got away seemed like they were not happy. Hopefully the ones that got away will leave since their nests are contaminated. I'm going to pull a fascia vent off later and pop a bug bomb off in it.

I've had issues with yellow jackets.  I ran over a nest with my lawnmower, and the next thing I knew was OUCH!!!.  Sprayed them, then a month later--OUCH!!!  They came back.  I sprayed them again and thus far, they're gone.  I've been stung 8-9 times this year.  Blasted things!!!

I had to help my father in law clear some downed trees behind his house a year or two ago and he had a bad run in with some yellow jackets...I was carrying wood he was cutting with the chain saw for most of the day. I was carrying a few cut up pieces and all the sudden I heard the chainsaw drop and saw him running for the lake...he was cutting through a tree and a swarm of them came out of the ground and got him pretty good. Think he got hit like 22 times or something like that before they stopped.

A cup or two of gasoline down their hole will rid you of them in perpetuity.

I guess I am also guilty of mass serial Red wasp killing also and did something similar but I waited till night fall after location the three very large nests in my carport were located. I went in under cover of darkness when I knew the nests would be full and I used two cans of Wasp spray. I was tired of them spending so much time on my Hummingbird feeders and not letting the birds eat. Have not see a wasp on any feeder in a couple days now................

A couple of years ago a guy near here went down the line of his low cinderblock wall pouring gasoline into about a dozen yellowjacket holes. I mean he really poured in a bunch.  But nobody told him not to light it, so he threw in a match and KAFOOMP!  He had so much deflection and crack damage in the cinderblock wall that he had to replace it. Hmmmmmm, what's that about can't fix stupid?

I feel your pain yesterday I ran over a ground nest with the brush hog. The little jackwagons would not let off. Multiple stings. Later last night a mixture went on their nest a small explosion and fireball was visible in the night sky. Problem solved

I have been trying to clear some land and woods lot with my dozer. I gave up today. The wasps are swarming the dozer everywhere I try to push. I got stung on the ear one day. Felt like I had been shot in the head...LOL When do the wasps quit nesting in the summer? I hate to wait until winter to do this work.

I've hit my share of hornets' nests with bushhogs before, and I've never had the luxury of a cabbed tractor.

Holy mercy, there's not a machine in the world that can get away from there fast enough. The worst is when you hit it and keep going, then the swarm rises up from the grass when you come around for the next pass...

Yea you're just feeding them with a hummingbird feeder, that's what I was doing. It made me mad because the wasps would run the hummingbirds off. I hope I fixed that now.

Funny you should mention.

I care for a family graveyard and I'm always cautious when approaching during this time of year due to previous experience with stings from yellow jackets.

I came upon a ground nest even though I scanned the site, the mower always brings them out. I got hit twice.

Went back a night a used a smoke bomb instead of my high dollar non-eth fuel.

like the old saying "stupid is as stupid does".................... :ugh:

Genuine question... Is that a real Old Saying or does it only go back as far as Forrest Gump? Just wondering.
