Joe Cocker's Actual Lyrics at Woodstock

It's not often that my mother sends me a link to something funny but she did tonight. I'm in the bed laughing my ass off while the ol' lady tries to sleep. I really get a kick out of this. More than I do with the NFL bad lip sync. Thought I would share. He was definitely out of his head on stage. Maybe a little LSD and coke?

Funny part is I saw him do that live at Woodstock. That was my last Concert me and a few buddies went to before shipping out. My Biggest thrill of the entire weekend was when Jimmie Hendricks joined Janis Joplin on stage and performed together for about 1/2 an hour. That made the whole trip worth while for me.

Well it was a WOW back then for sure but then when you think about those times and these times back then, you would have never imagine what this country has become. That's one thing that makes me laugh every time I hear about Bonnaroo coming back to Manchester. Bonnaroo promoters have said it's a modern day Woodstock and I just laugh and say to myself. If they had been there they would never compare the two in the same paragraph...........jmho

Wow. I'm not into that music and I've never done illegal drugs. But I could turn the volume off completely and know that guy is high as a kite.

And the Pearl Jam video too. Is it really necessary to be high to sing rock lyrics?

Edit: They were both hilarious BTW. I lol'ed. Edited by Clod Stomper

No, some artists are clean and do well.   However, it can be noted that a number of artists could not perform or create good new music without dope --- for example guns & roses fell apart as soon as they cleaned up.   It also is not just rock.   Quite a few country and other artists did plenty of dope ... dare I say J. Cash?  Dare I say willie?   I don't keep up with the pseudocountry rock stars but hank sr was drunk 24/7.

Not to be mean but no, its no surprise that the country started going the way it has after that era at all.   Not one bit.

I have thought this for a long time now. Not placing the blame on one particular thing but it's funny how everything prior to this era is avoided in schools anymore.

My friends and I attended Woodstock and none of us did drugs, A little Jack Black was about all But their was times we would have to move away from certain groups or you would get high just from the smoke. We had a lot of fun and didn't need to get high to do it. Not everyone back then did drugs to have fun.............jmho

I have not seen any true hippies since the early 70's when I came home from Nam. The actual Hippie era was during the Vietnam years.

Tree Huggers yea plenty of them but they are coming out of the colleges of today.

I know there are some here that served in Nam and some that were not even born before it ended but there is a change for the better in one area. That is how the troops are treated when they come home. Instead of cussing and spitting on our troops they are greeted with Cheers and waving American flags. Now lets look at that. Many of these people that were cussing and spitting are the same people today welcoming our troops home. Difference is???? the troops they are welcoming home today are their Children or Grandchildren. For that one change I am thrilled. I am also thrilled to see all the people that step up and work with Wounded Warriors and the many other Veteran and Wounded Hero's programs. Can any of you Nam vets here remember being offered any of these services? I can't.

After that shooting that killed the Marines and Sailor it was not police that went to guard all the recruiters and training centers because they are not allowed to be armed. It was veterans and former LEO"s and just plain Americans that stepped up to the plate to protect our protectors..

I could not believe it when I read a report this morning from DoD asking recruiters and men at the training centers to ask the civilians protecting them to stand down. They also asked them to call the police if they wanted the Civilians removed. To date not one recruiter or training center has made a request they leave or called the police.

The DoD is a bunch of Socialist Bureaucrats Teat suckers that are not willing to arm or request that they be armed in these stations.

They would rather have more of what happened last week to happen again to help push their anti gun issues. As long as the Civilian guards are on duty the terrorists will not hit a hard target that they do not have a good kill rate possibility.

I am very proud of these men and women that have stepped up and put their lives on the line to protect our Protectors. If My health was better and I could deal with heat I would be at our local Marine Recruiter Office and if they are still there when the weather Cools I will be stepping up to do my part.

Off My cart now...................... :ugh: :ugh:
