“Biggest Gun Grab In The History Of Our Country”

Recommended Posts

I am 67 years young and I am able to take total care my myself both my finances and every other aspect of my life. I will not allow the Feds to do anything through Social Security to take my firearms. I am writing all of my elected officials and demanding that they stop this maniac President from enforcing these stupid pen pushing bureaucratic policies to be passed. I do have arrangements in place should the day ever come that I feel I can no longer take care of my finances that will allow my family to assist me with them but they will never be made a legal guardian until I am on my death bed and then I won't care............jmho

It sounds like this will be enforced on anyone using a "representative payee" for payment of Social Security benefits, not necessarily for someone who needs a legal guardian or "conservator." This could potentially affect a lot of people who are still of sound mind, however, in my experience most people using a "representative payee" are in fact mentally disabled and would not have the capacity to purchase a firearm in the first place.

But that should at least take a medical pannel to determine that, not some VA or SS clerk.  There should be no form that takes your rights away without due process, and even then you should be allowed representation.

What I fail to see is the problem to start with. It's not like everyday you see grandpa at the check out in Wal Mart holding the cashier at gunpoint until they hand over the Meta Mucil-I think there is a whole lotta fix looking for a non problem to start with.Where do these politicians dream this crap up from.Sounds like a straight forward gun grab to me.

I'm not disagreeing with you, however, the law already requires all "legally incompetent adults" to have a representative payee. In this case, the decision has already been made by a medical board and/or through an adjudication of the court. These individuals cannot purchase a firearm anyway. As I said before, it would be a very rare situation for someone of sound mind to hand over their Social Security check to someone else.

Personally, I think it's all a bunch of brouhaha from the NRA and won't amount to any big "gun grab" in the future.

Hillary has already said gun owners are terrorists so I can see all the resources used against Al Qaeda, ISIS and all other "terrorist" groups be used against gun owners, especially gun owning veterans.

I expect my letter any day because I cannot remember names because of the accident. I am about to have a evaluation done to determine if I have a TBI and I am seriously considering cancelling it even though it can seriuosly affect other parts of my life.

Don't give in, take care of yourself!

These wingnuts are still the minority, may be 20% Of society. They have the media, the schools and the jackbooted control in politics. A very small portion of society have their beliefs.

They are still the minority and if/when they piss off enough Americans, they'll be corrected.

Of course they already have but we can't give in.

On another note, the cuts to Medicare and resultant loss of providers are going to start to show their effects. Seniors will surely be PO'd once they are denied care and pay a lot more for scripts. It's a good reason for the libs to disarm them. Edited by Ugly

I got to thinking today that this might be to keep guns from being passed down or sold after a senior dies. Think about it there are a lot of seniors that grew up with, and kept their, guns so if they passed away those firearms could be passed down or sold. But if a senior got some official looking letter saying to sell or turn in your firearms I would think a lot of seniors would do the easy thing and just turn them in to police. And then you know the firearms would be destroyed in most cases.

Maybe in a generation or two they will get to see a surprising story about how a senior was in possession of a gun and act like the recent stories about the seniors with WWII tanks. I hope that isn't the case but it sure looks that way. The schools are liberal brain washing centers and once the next generation, that has been told guns are evil, starts ruling the country guns will be a thing of the past. We, literally, are probably the last generation that will be able to own a gun anonymously without breaking the law.
