Gunman opens fire in Lafayette, LA Movie Theater

............................................................ Granted, "crazy" doesn't necessarily need a reason... at least not one any of us would recognize.

Neither do "mean," "vicious," "murderous," or "evil." I spent a lifetime in LE and to this day I refuse to believe that a person has to be crazy to commit a horrible crime, including mass murder. He only has to be one of the four things in my first sentence.

Won't disagree with ya there...

I've said for years that anybody who says there HAS to be a devil/Satan just hasn't met enough of the wrong kind'a people. There's plenty enough "evil" in the human race without any need for outside help.

But then, I'm someone who believes that there really are people in this world who should be removed from it at the soonest possible opportunity. No coddling, therapy, incarceration, or other nonsense involving keeping them around.

So if there's anything good to say about this guy, it can only be that he at least saved the state the cost of a long stupid trial, and the taxpayers the price of having to feed him and keep him alive.

this is an interesting point.  At the end of the day it does not matter much,  but I would argue that people that are any of these are all "crazy".   Being "mean" is just exactly that... antisocial, anger problems, chemically impaired (naturally or artificially), whatever the cause, something isn't wired quite right.

There are really just a few motives for violence, though.  Greed.  Religion.  Insanity.  Revenge.  Sex.  Self defense.   All but the last one are arguably a form of insanity if someone is killing because of them.
