What is your preferred 45acp Target Round?

So recently I got some Magtech 45 ammo at a gun show just to use as practice rounds and I'm not too crazy about it...hasn't failed me yet, but it seems to be a little less accurate from a distance than others I have used in the past. I used armscor recently and it actually surprised me and I liked it quite a bit.

What do you guys prefer? Not looking to start an ammo war, just curious.

I've had good luck with Perfecta ammo as well as the Federal Champion FMJ. Both are usually available at Wally World for relatively reasonable prices. That said, I now prefer to roll my own and prefer 200 grain lead semi wad cutters for range use.  Reloading has made shooting .45 ACP almost as affordable as shooting 9mm for me.

I'm probably not going to start reloading any time soon. I've thought about it, just probably not going to start it.

I've used WWB, federal, American Eagle, and Blazer brass. I'd give the nod to the BB, but it's not really enough different to matter.

I have been rolling my own as well with David's csb1 with extreme or hornady 230gr hollow point or round point and very happy with how the rock river arms handles it especially after polishing the ramp and barrel I could be happier. :):)

No feeding issues with the semi wadcutters? What gun?

No sir, no problems with the wad cutters. Shooting them out of a government size Colt 1911. I was not sure how they would work when I first got the gun because I've had a few that didn't like them. I had to alter my OAL a little but once I got that worked out, they became my favorite range fodder. I like to use Missouri Bullet Company 200 grain. They are reasonably priced and locally available. I shoot them with Unique, Bullseye, W231, VV N320, as well as some IMR SR 4756. I really like the crisp way they cut the paper.
