Anyone know of any Turkey Shoots that are being set up around the Thanksgiving holiday in or around Knox or Union Counties?

My Father-in-Law and I are trying to start up a tradition out of going to area Turkey Shoots while I am in for the holidays. We've made it for the last two years but he said he hasn't seen any signs set up announcing any so far this year.

They are always great fun and the winner (between us) gets bragging rights for the next 12 months!

If any of you guys have seen or know of any, let me know.

I saw signs for 4 different turkey shoots in the Maryville,Townsent, Wears valley area for the 3rd weekend in october.

I know that's not thanksgiving time frame and not exactly Knox county but they may have all be earlier than now?????

But then again it rained the weekend the 4 I saw were supposed to be held and im not sure when they were rescheduled for.

Here in chattanooga we have nothing like that. grrrr

Yeah we never get to do any of that cool stuff here around Memphis either. I really enjoy them though, great fun! Even if it is mostly luck...

I believe there is one in Lenoir City. I have seen a sign for one somewhere off of Hardin Valley. I don't know when they are planning on having a shoot. I will check into it when I'm down that way again, which will probably be Tuesday.

Maybe 3/4 mile east of I75 on the south side of whatever that main drag is.

I believe theres one in Andersonville/Norris(anderson county) east of x122 on I75 every Thanksgiving or so. I havent noticed it advertised when I've been up that way, but they used to hold it on the south side of the road before you get to the Museum of Appalachia.
