Some Thoughts on Buying/Selling Used Firearms

Don't know how you take the "emotion" out of someone asking too much for grandad's, or dad's, gun after they have passed away. Sorta makes you feel like you're walking on egg shells, especially when you want the gun... but not at that price. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has ran up against this. How do you guys handle it, without being perceived as a cold hearted jerk?

Love to hear from a lot of you... especially those of you that have been successful in navigating these barriers. Thanks.

I just explain what the going rate is for that particular gun.  When I decide to buy a gun, I do a search on various gun sites to get a good feel for how much it should be worth.  I am sure they did the same when deciding to sell, and if it has that much sentimental value they probably shouldn't sell it.

And then there is the "political panic" type of sale which rises and ebbs according to gun grabber activity.  Does everyone remember ARs hitting $3000+ a couple of years ago?

Yeah. I had an offer for $3500 and I didn't take it. I'm still mad.

Lots of "gun grabber" news the last couple of days. Obama is saying that the government just needs to "brainwash" the people on gun control, like we did on gay marriage! Will the Americans wake up in time...that is the question.
