Shootings in Chattanooga and Cleveland?!?!

Heard a report on fox that the FBI was there immediately.

If by "immediately" they mean coming down from Knoxville.

FBI said the gunman had numerous weapons.

Which they're not gonna identify, at least officially right now.

I have a funny feeling that an AR15 was involved somehow.

Bullet holes do look bigger to me also at the Brainerd location. I'm guessing AK or .308.

I was saying that just because the AR15 is always involved...the holes do look bigger than 223 in my opinion. They actually looked more like a 45 honestly. They were pretty big.

This holes in the glass door were awfully big.  Could have been a .30 caliber weapon.  Hard to say.

BTW, sorry for the multiple posts.  I was just putting facts out there as they were reported in the press conference.

I was more or less saying that because people always blame the AR guns. I said in a previous post the holes were too big to be a 223...probably should have put a sarcasm label on that post :-X

The press conference was interesting. I think Bill Killian is regretting his use of the word 'Domestic Terrorism' (which is odd because he used it twice during his initial statement) and found his second appearance at the mic to be slightly interesting.

"I urge people not to rush and use labels on this" Bill Killian

... Uh, Bill, you are the one who labeled it, not us.

On an interesting note, I had the privilege of touring the FBI offices on Veteran's Day this year and got to meet that Special Agent in Charge. He is a very nice guy and served in the Marines as well so I am sure this investigation carries some extra motivation for him.

I noticed the the FBI Agent was pretty quick to distance himself from the Domestic Terrorism comment.

Well, so far its a "Big Black Gun" that can shoot more than 10-20 rounds per mag so time to go out and duracoat all your ARs some other color and stock up on 30 round mags.

Agreed. That almost seemed like a foot-in-the-mouth moment for the US Attorney but then when he reemphasized it that second time I was like "well, they must have something pretty solid for that statement". Apparently not.

Bill Killian seemed to be talking out of both sides of his mouth.  Did you see him look at the agents when he said "not to label it terrorism" yet??  My blood is already boiling and the response from the laywers and politicians will be dreadful, I fear.

Will be interesting to see what race the person was after retracting that statement...

This is terrible... It pisses me off to no end that our military installations are unarmed. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered in an ambush situation but just the fact that they are unarmed makes them an attractive target...

Apparently we (our wonderful political leadership) will never learn... Actually, they probably know and don't care since they aren't in the line of fire.

There is a big discussion going on about this on CNN at the moment.

Report I just read said the shooter was Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez.... that from CBSNlive

If that's correct it's pretty clear that it's a jihadist terrorist attack.

Interesting that CNN/FOX are still holding off mentioning identity of the shooter. Guess they don't feel it's reliable info yet. But MSNBC is saying it's so, opining he's naturalized citizen from Kuwait.
