For all you fellow syfy geeks. Gort lives!

My wife didn't appreciate my watching it. lol

A liberals wet dream, an android that can fire a ray that will evaporate any and all weapons from our hands.

A true geek knows it is spelled "Klaatu barada nikto" :)

Don't feel bad though, even Ash blew it in Army of Darkness. ;)

Well, Patrica neal's character is told to go to Gort and say theses words...Klatu Brada Neecto (And I'll get back to the last word and spelling in a minute.)

When she approaches Gort, and he awakens and walks towards her, the first line she says is "Gort...Klatu Brada Neecto" and as shes backing into the chairs and corner, she says "Klatu Brada Neecto".

Of course over the years, the line has become "Gort... Klatu Brada Neecto."

Now as to the spelling, and pronounciation, nikto...nicto...neecto, and even neekto have been seen in print in various forms.

The TMC film guy even mentioned that the word was supposedly orginially "Neekto...sounded, but over the years been attributed as "Nicto or Nikto".

I'm not going to get excited over either one. I have old paperbacks and film mags that have different spelling in them.

So let's just enjoy a classic sci-fi movie and not worry about it.

Apparently, the original script is usually seen as definitive, just sayin' :):

                               KLAATU
                              (slowly)
There's no limit to what he could
do. He could destroy the Earth.
                              (with great urgency)
If anything should happen to me, you
must go to Gort. You must give him
                         this message: "Klaatu barada nikto."
                         Please repeat that.

                                     HELEN
                              (shocked and
                              bewildered, she
                              repeats nervously)
                         "Klaatu barada nikto."
