Thinking seriously about the 9mm version Tokarev
Just curious if any of yall got one and what you think of them as opposed to the TT .30 caliber types. Edited by Caster

I purchased a Zastava M70a a few months ago from Bud's Guns. I had to have the first one sent back for replacement because the magazine disconnect safety kept locking up the trigger even when the magazine was fully seated in the pistol. I still haven't taken the replacement that I received to the range, but the magazine disconnect safety doesn't seem to be defective thus far. I wouldn't trust this as a carry gun because of the magazine disconnect issues. I found a video on YouTube where a guy was talking about this problem and showing what the likely cause was.

I doubt it would be difficult to disable the magazine safety.  If I get one, I will certainly look into it.

Thanks Dolomite, as always, you're awesome.   I'll let you know if I get a 7,62.

I have a Romanian and a Czech both in 7.62x25. They function well and the 7.62 is a nasty hard hitting round. I am also looking for the firing pin assembly for a Yugo M57 if anyone has any parts please let me know

Looks like a piece of cake, just break off a thin piece of metal:

In my humble opinion the best (and only) pistol for the sub-machine round is the exemplary CZ 52 pistol .. The Tokarev pistol is/ has been retro-fitted for compliance to US firearm regs vis-a-vis external safety ..The CZ 52 meets/exceeds all regs unless you break the firing pin by " dry firing"..Notwithstanding , the TT 30 looks like a pistol designed by a Committee ..

The Tokarev is a very strong design.  While I really like my CZ52, it is not as durable as the Tokarev.

Tokarevs were not designed to have a safety.  Get rid of the safeties as they are all poor designs.

The half-cock notch is very deep and strong.  It was designed to be carried on half-cock and a flick of your thumb can easily bring it to full cock with a little practice.  It's realy as fast as trying to manipulate the crappy thumb safeties they import them with.

IMHO, a magazine safety is worse than useless.
