I'm just wondering if any of you would be interested in seeing a sub-forum added here, devoted to discussion of survival skills. I can envision topics like:

  • Camping and basic woodsman skills.
  • Gardening, canning, pantry management.
  • Shortwave radio, CB radio, etc.
  • Storm shelters, natural disaster survival, etc.

I think it could be done intelligently and in such a way that it is educational. Far too many forums strictly devoted to those topics tend to be occupied by serious TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it) extremists and tinfoil hat conspiracy nuts. We could do it with... class. :D

Vote and let your thoughts be known! Ballots are private so others won't know how you voted.

Probably a good idea, not to mention that those who are interested in doing so could plan on meeting up if the SHTF to help each other out...

As long as the topic of "Sudden Zombie Outbreak" is discussed openly and objectively I'm all for it. (It's simply a matter of "When" not "If" gentlemen.) :D

Could that also be like an "outdoors" section. Many here like to camp, backpack, canoe, fish, etc.

Maybe a more broad title and description to cover survival and outdoor skills maybe. Just a thought.

Oh yeah.... and zombie stuff.

Sure, why not?

I mean, how many others here even have a dog eared copy of the SAS Survival Guide?

Just because he's a sick freak... not because of any relevant survival methods.

I voted yes as long as we keep the tin foil hat crap off limits.

I voted yes as there are a couple of like-mindeds near me and it will do much to keep the zombies as bay.

Tin-foil time already!

Yeah, I really like the outdoor stuff, but not because the end of the world is coming and I've got to run to the hills. If there was some way to avoid the inevitable tin foil SHTF paranoia, I think it would be great.:D
