Walden's Puddle needs help

Walden's puddle does a lot of good work rehabilitating injured and sick animals.  Seems some big company wants to put a gas compressor station next door.  Of all the places, they couldn't set up down the road a little further?  I guess once again man proves the mighty dollar is more important than compassion.

 

They have a petition to try to stop it.  If you love animals, take the time to read it.  You may want to sign the petition too.

Try googling "Waldens Puddle Petition".  My wife told me about it this morning and that's how I found it.

I see no link to this petition off Walden's Puddle's own site, so assume they don't give it much credence. This is how the Center suggests folks help:

The link I posted, it's right there on the right hand side of the screen. As of now, still need 2,020 people to make 5K signatures.

Both links work here at work, and we block all kinds of legit stuff.  Might be something with your browser or provider.  Try copying the shortcut and pasting it into your browser to see if that works.

I'm simply not seeing a link to the petition anywhere off Walden Puddle's official site which is why I said they don't seem to give it much credence. (though Caster says there is one)

 

Not a big deal, just one of those things that make ya go hmmm?

It is indeed odd that they do not link that to their homepage.  Maybe that needs to be brought to their attention.

About 8 years ago I found an injured Hummingbird near one of my many feeders and I picked it up and was surprised to see it was still alive in the hot weather. I brought it inside and made a small paper bed in a small box for it. Then I thought it might be hungry so I put some nectar in a bottle cap and that little bird was starved. I think she drank about a 1/3 of a cap full only taking brief breaks. I called TWRA and asked them where they took their wild creatures that were injured for help and they said Waldrens Puddle and gave me directions. I took the bird to them and gave them $50.00 donation. They sent me pictures on line of the bird during it's recovery and sent me a short video of it in their trough net cage and finally that Fall they sent me a video of the birds release all healthy and ready for migration south. I have tried to send them something every month since then................. :up:

Most likely someone knew about the petition site and Walden's plight so put the two together. It may also be likely that the webmaster does not yet know of the petition, either way no reason, unless you disagree, not to sign the petition.
