Did it rain where you are?

:D

We've been lucky so far with the weather, but this week is an exception. Yesterday, I had to cut a large tree across my driveway before I could get out. Lightening got my central unit. I'm about to put the box blade on my tractor and retrieve what I can of my driveway.

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

last night was, literally, like having a swimming pool dumped out on my house.  It rained so hard I had water come in from my outside AC unit and drip from a vent in the basement ... that has only happened maybe twice in close to 10 years.

its been a wet year here, generally.

Not yet today, but it's been dark and cloudy, with intermittent sunshine for a few minutes, then dark again. Last night/early a.m. we had quite a bit of rain and thunder

Tons of rain. We're up high so no big problems. I'm betting there was some flooding down below us though. I know living where we do there's gonna be a tree in the road one of these days.

You guys probably had it worse today. It freakin poured in KY yesterday and sprinkled on us while we shot. Still have another 100 to go and the weather only looks like it's getting worse.

I'm a whitewater kayaker, and loving all this rain. It has brought up some creeks that usually only run in the middle of winter, It's really wierd paddling these creeks in short sleeves.

Made it to the Piney river in Spring City yesterday. It was absolutely perfect. We got a late start, and I thought we were going to be paddling out in the dark, but we made it to the end by 8:15 or so.

It rained all morning, and then cleared up while we were on the river. In fact we even had blue skies for a while. It came down hard again on the way home.

The wife was not happy that I got home after 11:00   :hiding:

It has stinkin' poured off and on the last couple of days. It was raining so hard at one point I couldn't see my shop that's only maybe 50 feet from the back of the house.

My area, Inglewood/Madison, has been pretty luck this week. Several short, hard downpours on us, but worst of it has gone around to the NE and SE.

I'm not sad about it either. But sorry for all the others getting hit by it.

Most my driveway gravel is now in the swale next to it. As soon as it drys out I'll be on the tractor building it back up.

Sorry about your tree Greg. I just saw a big wood boat with some grey haired guy and all his kinfolk go by. Had lots of animals in it too. Don't feel real good about this omen!

Not a problem. :D My chainsaw started right up, and I wasn't standing under it when it fell. All is well.

We had a large tree across our driveway this morning. Got it cleared, now I am tired. Carry on.

I discovered that a bored teenage son is an asset in tree removal. He didn't see it that way.

Being a long time lake-goer and back yard swimmer, I am very sensitive to bad spring and summertime weather.  I tend to keep a log.  The last three July 4ths have been shit in East TN.  This year was a total washout.  Last year was sunny, but very cool.  Froze to death in the pool.  And the year before was a washout.

In fact, the last 3 summers have been garbage if you spend time in the water.  It has not been hot and humid at all.  When it has been hot, it hasn't been very humid.  You know it when you come out of he water and are immediately freezing.  For the last 3 years, the second half of June has been the best weather of the year, then garbage in July and August.  There are occasionally nice days through the week, but the weekends are lousy.

We had the 2 weeks of hot weather this year, but again, it wasn't as humid as it was reported according to my gauges.  I think the weather people have a tendency to overstate the extremes.

It feels like 110!  I try to tell my friends that while we are all wet and shivering.
