I do NOT recommend the pad. I have a Liberty that will not open and after repeated call to the factory, they say I am SOL and will need to have it drilled. I will not buy another pad.

Friend of mine, had the same problem with his new Liberty Safe, didnt tell him in the manual, that the handle, which always has about 1/2 inch play in it, needs to always be turned to the left or it will not engage and open!

I have dial types and while not super fast to open in an emergency, I like not having to worry about the battery failing. Some folks just aren't good with the dials and can't open them easily, but I have had no trouble.

I would go dial. I did have a problem once when I moved it with the internals being knocked out of wack. But it staightened itself out. Of coarse I have moved the beast about 10 times different places.

one of my friends bought 2 stack ons with the touch pads. and in the first year he had to send both of the touch pads in for new ones because they were messing up. i have had my old dial kind and works great! slow, but great

I, too, have a Liberty safe with the dial. It always works. It's just slower than the pad. If you have to open and lock it several times a day, it would make sense to go with the touch pad. Other than that, the dial is the way to go.

Why dont 1 of you sell me your dial safe thats really to small for your current needs & go purchase a big mackdaddy safe. I just need 1 for 3 or 4 pistols.

I can had the dial changed to a touch pad,the battery can be changed externally
