Red dot scope Question

Is it legal to use a red dot scope on a shotgun, muzzleloader or rifle in big game season on TN?

I see them sold mounted to crossbows and in trophy pics so my thinking is yes, but want to be sure.

That is why I ask. The instructor at the hunter safety class said electronic sights are not legal.

But a red dot does not "illuminate" the animal. I have seen recent trophy pics from TN crossbow hunters w/red dots.

I wondered about using a laser dot sight like Crimson Trace Grips on a 44 mag Revolver, for instance. I don't think you can "locate" wildlife with it.........Any thoughts?????

from my understanding that would be illeagal. but to be sure you could just email the twra to find out.

yeah, email TWRA is the answer. no reason not too.

and let us know when you get the official ruling please.

i'm a LOT better with my Eotech than without it.
