Channel 4 news (Nashville) reported on story tonight and on the bottom of the screen there was an R instead of a (D).   Passing him off as a Republican?  Whats up with that I wonder.

I'm with OS on this one.... Armstrong appears to be in deep dookie if the indictment is true... I read it through, and if he has done this, he is even a bigger crook than i suspected... I think this is interestin in that the investigation started in 2006 (...as i remember...), and has took till now to be completed ... Another thing to think about;... ya have a democrat us district attorney in east tennessee goin after a fellow democrat; it must be pretty heinous stuff, or Armstrong made the wrong people mad...

As OS opined, good for him...

I wonder if the state will vacate all his votes since the first instance of fraud?  I also wonder if they'd require repayment of all benefits received since that time?  That would send a nice message.

Not going to happen. Too many other representatives who have probably broken the same laws to allow that to happen. That is why we do not see anyone being held accountable in Washington, if they decide to hold one accountable then they will have to hold the majority accountable. They will never be held accountable for breaking the law by those who are also breaking the law. We are a country ran by a bunch of criminals who know they will NEVER be held accountable for their illegal, and unethical, activities because those who would hold them accountable are also a bunch of criminals. And up until relatively recently it was only widespread in Washington but now it appears that we have a bunch of criminals at the local level as well.

I wish those who have been convicted of violating the public's trust would be punished to death. I wonder how many would run their position if that were the case.

Hmm. Looks like one rat rolled on another rat. What's most curious though is the length of time involved in the investigation. I'm wondering if the Feds were hoping to catch bigger fish or just going for a larger bag limit? FWIW I don't expect any significant punishment equalling the significance of the fraud involved. Additionally the IRS has put paid to a lot of folks who thought they were going to beat the system.

As far back as I can remember I use to hear my grandfather and my father talk about how crooked our Government was at all levels so I guess this is nothing new. It is just that more of them are being caught and once the news gets hold of anything it goes public which didn't happen 60 years ago. It has become Dog Eat Dog in politics these days and those who someone is their puts a knife in their back to either protect their own crimes by rolling on another politician. All politicians have assumed for far to many years that they are above the law. Well ever once in a while they assume wrong. I just wish it happened a lot more than it does. Obama is living proof of that. He as lied to and cheated  the American people for almost 8 years and nothing has been done about it. As far as i am concerned he is a black Richard Nixon that has not been held accountable for any of his actions................jmho

Probably just typical sloppy WSMV reporting.

Make no mistake. It wasn't done accidentally. It'll be said to be a mistake if anyone calls them on it, but rest assured it was purposeful.

What a scum - leveraging his vote to arbitrage tax stamps for a $750,000 gain.
#blacklivesmatter?

No, don't include someone arrested for malfeasance in the #blacklives matter equation because the jerk wad in question isn't a violent street criminal running afoul of the police and consequences of assaulting them or an armed citizen. Now as to how I'd like to perceive #blacklives matter that'd be in black on black crimes of violence and provable abuse of force actions.
